I like Sidney Rice, but on pure talent, its Harvin by a pretty decent margin. Outside of height and vertical, Harvin is more impressive in every way. Harvin is one of the 10 most talented WR's in the NFL.

Rice and Harvin are both uber talented. I think it's pretty close, and it'll be interesting to see how Harvin follows up a great rookie campaign.

I personally think it's Rice and I don't even think the other two are in the same class.
:X after watching percy he looks like a more explosive wes welker
I'm confused by your post.
Basically he thinks Rice is a world above a player who is more explosive than one of the best WRs in the league. IOW, he has smoked too much crack this morning. It's very close between Harvin and Rice, Rice is more talented in the conventional sense but Harvin is among the best of the newer breed - Welker/DJax/Royal/McCluster/Bush types.

I think Harvin is the most athletic of the group but I think Rice has the best skills required of a WR.

Without a doubt, Harvin. It took Sid the usual 3 years to become a decent WR in the NFL. Harvin made it year one, and was the starter in only half of the games the queens played. Harvin also has far better physical skills

I think Sidney Rice is your prototype #1 who can do it all and has the size to go with it. I'm impressed with Harvin as well but he isn't your typical #1 receiver. The Vikings seem to utilize him much like the Pats use Welker and he looks like a more explosive version of Welker. What I was trying to say was at first glance of the topic I thought it was Rice in a lanslide but after watching Harvin it could be closer than I originally thought.

Ok, makes sense. I tend to think Harvin myself. Rice could be the next Herman Moore though with his size and ability to high point the ball. Harvin reminds me a bit of Sterling Sharpe. Not bad company to be compared to and if either lives up to that comparison, the Vikes will be very happy.

Harvin is a better athlete. Rice is a better WR.

To those saying that Rice took 3 years to emerge and Harvin did it in his rookie year, that seems a bit disingenuous. Rice never had a HoF QB throwing to him his 1st 2 years in, Harvin did. Hell Rice didn't even have QBs worthy of starting in the NFL throwing to him until last year. Rice also never had a true WR1 taking attention and pressure off of him. Harvin did, that guy was Rice.

What separates Rice from Harvin as a WR is not only his size and leaping ability. He also has better body control (he's one of the best in the NFL in that regard from what I've seen), he runs better routes (Harvin could improve of course), he has better hands and he attacks the ball about as well as anyone I've seen as well.

This is pretty much how I have it also if I'm drafting a Wr in redraft or dynasty I take Rice but I still believe Harvin has much more talent he just will always be the slot guy.

I agree.Berrians game is primarily based on speed. He doesnt have the leaping ability or the ability to beat the jam like Rice.as for Harvin, I think he has fine skill, just not in the same ballpark as Rice. Although I will add it is too early in the game to say for sure. I've only seen him play a handful of times, and when a guy gets a limited amount of playing time due to not being a regular starter, sometimes it's hard to get a true handle on a guys potential.

I voted Rice because of the phrase "most talented wide receiver". I believe that Harvin is the most physically gifted athlete of the 3, but not the most talented. Just my opinion.

Love Harvin's game...think he can be a special player and has a lot more ways he can help an offense than Rice. I think Rice is the more polished, complete outside receiver though. Harvin still has to evolve into that IMHO.

Harvin is two years younger than Rice. And he's really only been a wide receiver for one season. So I agree, he's only scratched the surface.

I have to make the choice between the two in a hybrid dynasty league.....Without Favre I am leaning toward Harvin because he seems to be a bit more versatile. With Favre I think it is Rice hands down….I am going to give the edge to Harvin by a very slight margin.
