Who is your favorite player (all-time)... (1 Viewer)

Raider Nation

Devil's Advocate
Kenny Stabler for me, easily.

He's probably the main reason I became a Raider fan. So cool and poised in the pocket.

This one's for The Snake. :banned:

9 - Marvin Harrison

Bernie Kosar.

He may come off like a kook now, but this guy is a class act through and through.

Browns used to scrimmage the Giants in Madison, NJ during the Ray Handley NYG and Belichick CLE days. I got a lift up there for a practice and they went for like 3 hours in 90+ degree heat.

After practice was finally over, Bernie saw me in my #19 jersey on the complete other side of the field and jogged over when he could have easily retreated to the locker room which was like 20 feet away.

The guy was baking in the heat and his afro was drenched. I would imagine the last place in the world he would want to be was chit chatting and signing an autograph for a pasty pile of chub like myself. But he was there.

I find this very odd. This to me would be like saying that my favorite player was 1) Bernie Kosar 2) Ray Lewis
That is just what I was wondering...Do the Ravens have claim on the old Browns players, or does Cleveland get them?God, from the new Browns, it is rather slim pickings...

1) Kellen Winslow? Joe Thomas? I really don't even know... :kicksrock:

Short career, but I loved watching Christian Okoye run through people. Derrick Thomas is a close second.
I lived in KC at that time and was even able to work at Arrowhead taking tickets. What a blast that was. Beautiful stadium! That Chiefs team was a fun team to be a fan of. Don't forget Smith on the other side of the Dline from DT. Okoye sure was a beast...The Nigerian Nightmare, lol. KC fans are among the most passionate in football. If you walk down a KC sidewalk on Monday morning, you can tell by the way people carry themselves whether or not the Chiefs won on Sunday.

If we're talking new Browns, gimme Cribbs, Thomas, and Winslow. As bad of a rap that Winslow got, he always gave 100% and caught everything thrown his way.

i loved the dome patrol guys back in the day. they were pretty damn awesome. these days, hard not to say Brees. the man just gets it both on and off the field.

Smith would have made my list, but he left to become a Bronco.

Bill Bergey - #1 Overall for me.

Honorable Mention: Chuck Bednarik - ended his career a few years before I was born but I seriously wish I had gotten to see the man play. I love reading the stories about the Frank Gifford hit or sitting on Jim Brown to run out the clock the last time the Eagles won a Championship. Seen a few clips also.

Jaworski, Montgomery, Frank LeMaster, Carmichael,.......some of my favorites back in the day.

Cunningham, Joyner, White, Andre Waters.....some more recent favs....

Dawkins, Westbrook, McNabb.....

Carson Palmer.

I loved Boomer and even Jeff Blake and Carl Pickens, but you have to think about how badly the Bengals were missing on quarterbacks for years before Carson came and brought hope. Then, to follow through on that hope with the offensive explosion of 2005 and division title has made Bengals games ever since very exciting with the atmosphere now. Once we started fearing he was declining and injury-prone, he steps up and makes play after play last year to win the division for the 2nd time in 5 years.

Oh, and in the mean time he was the constant voice keeping things calm in a locker room full of chaos. The guy has represented the team and city in the best way possible even when NOBODY else around him was.

Favorite among an entire group of great Raiders.

Cliff Branch #21....You can't teach speed.

I am sure that Al Davis fell in love with speed players after having Cliff Branch destroy CB's on stop and go out patterns.

My childhood hero.

As a Bronco fan, I really think it goes without saying.

In fact, when I saw this thread I was wondering if there was any other fan base that would have such a large gap between the most common "favorite player" and the second most common "favorite player". Maybe the Dolphins and Marino.

Jesse "The Hammer" Tuggle

Brooking

Ryan is quickly moving up the charts

Fulton Kuykendall "Captain Crazy"

William Andrews

Billy "White Shoes" Johnson

Steve Bartkowski

Tommy Nobis

Deion Sanders. I try really hard to not like him, but I can't seem to do it.

Michael Irvin

Yeah, I watched many great Cowboy players beforehand (some already named here), but I was able to closely follow Micheal's entire career (with the help of the Internet).

Forr me it will always be the guy who started the LUV YA BLUE and finally put the Oliers on the map in a Cowboy state

The one and only EARL CAMPELL

Yes, Terrell Davis...it goes without saying...(couldn't resist)All this reminiscing...While not my teams, a couple of great RB moments in my mind: * The Cowboys complete domination of the run with Emmit Smith. Recall them marching down the field in Superbowl ?? with the same exact off-tackle play 8-10 times in a row. * "Rigginomics". What a bulldozer John Riggins was.

Brett Favre. It pains me a bit to say that after the way he's acted the past few seasons. But it doesn't really take away the fact they we Packers fans were treated to a special player for so many years.

Honorable mentions to Reggie White, Leroy Butler, and Chuck Cecil.

Not strange at all since I grew up in Ky rooting for the Baltimore Colts and when they moved to Indy I became an Indy Colts fan. Keep in mind that I'm not from the city of Baltimore, so naturally I kept liking the Colts after they moved. I love the Colts regardless of what city they play in. Hope that clears that up for ya.
