Since the current playoff system was put into practice in 1990...

the #1 seed has reached the Super Bowl 50% of the time.

the #2 seed has reached the Super Bowl 31% of the time.

the #3 seed has reached the Super Bowl 3% of the time (just once - Carolina in '03)

the #4 seed has reached the Super Bowl 13% of the time.

the #5 seed has never reached the Super Bowl.

the #6 seed has reached the Super Bowl 3% of the time (last year's Steelers were the first).

A #1 and a #2 have advanced to the Super Bowl 8 times (50%).

Both #1s have only advanced twice.

There have only been two Super Bowls in this time where neither #1 seed advanced.

Just throwing it out there.

I'd like to see the Saints vs the Colts.I think Brees and crew would be a great show from the NFC and have a good shot to get in. I like the Colts in the AFC. None of the other teams have done enough to deserve to get a shot.And more than anything I think it would be a fantastic game.
