Who is your one guy? (1 Viewer)

Every year, i go through all the cheat sheets and i highlight certain guys and adjust some guys numbers.. i am sure that most of you do the same. there are always a few players that i mark that i say to myself "i really want this guy".. last year it was 2 guys.. michael turner and chris johnson.. i was dead on for once.. the year before it was lee evans.. i was way off.

anyways.. who is your guy this year.. or who are your guys.. the ones that you are willing to draft ahead of their ADP to ensure that you get?

I find myself higher on Frank Gore than most people. I'll gladly take him in the middle of the 1st round in a PPR format.

Jerricho Cotchery is finding his way on a lot of my teams too. He was a sexy pick last year but is slipping farther than he should this year. He is a clear #1 WR on that team and is a proven player.

I'm getting him in the 9th round consistently in mocks.

Dwayne Bowe, Dwayne Bowe, Dwayne Bowe

For the life of me I cannot understand why he isnt getting more love. The dude had a breakout year last year with a couple of scrubs throwing him the ball. He has great size and very strong. He plays like he is pissed off all the time and physically mutilates smaller cb's. Now he has a way better qb, his number 2 receiver is healthy and Tony G is gone so his targets should skyrocket. I am praying he lasts until 3.5 but I think after a couple of preseason games people are going to wise up.

I also dont understand the Calvin love. I just dont understand why people are taking him in the 1rst. I know he is an amazing talent and probably will have a decent/nice season but a couple of things stand out. By week 8 or so he will have a 21 yr old throwing him the ball and the Lions have a terrible oline. If Calvin had a somewhat decent qb throwing him the ball then maybe I could understand where everybody is coming from but just the fact that a rookie is on deck to throw him the ball is enough to scare me and take Steve Smith instead.

In a dynasty league I get it. In a redraft, I'm more in agreement with you although I still think Calvin is a top 3.

Top 3 no way. Top 6 maybe, maybe. Fitz, Ajohnson, Moss, SSmith, RWayne and probably Boldin

Maybe because his QB situation was at least that bad last year and he did great? And there's no way I put Wayne ahead of him. Fitz, AJ, SSMith for sure, then Moss is gonna lose a step one of these days (do you wanna be the one caught when he does?) and Boldin or CJ is a tough pick for me.I seem to reach for Schaub, Cotchery, Chester Taylor. Then again...I have the numbe rone in my 12 team so I kinda have to.

Derrick Ward. Mean offensive line, little or no real challenge for the starting RB spot in TB ( Graham and Caddy are both also-ran RB's)

Clinton Portis - just take a look at his schedule

Greg Olsen

Jason Witten - by the end of the first quarter of the first game of the Cowboys' 2009 season,it will be painfully apparent that the only receiver worth having on that roster, is Witten..

Boldin - playing for a contract or a way out of Az. will put up incredible numbers in 2009.

LT2 - reports of his demise are g-r-e-a-t-l-y exaggerated..1300/15 on the radar screen

Wayne? The same Wayne that couldn't crack 1,200 yards and only had 6 touchdowns? Good luck with that.

tom brady

the other guys i seem to have on more than half of my redrafts so i rank them higher i guess would be :

knowshon moreno

derick ward

percy harvin

fred taylor

joey galloway

I have been strongly considering grabbing Fitz over any RB available in the first other than Peterson. I grabbed Witten early last year and may do the same this year. I will probably grab Matt Ryan if I decide to ignore qb's early on but that will all depend on where my position is. Ryan has been staying in the mix on a lot of mock drafts until pretty late. But as soon as the run on 2nd tier qb's starts, he gets snatched up.

Yeah, that guy. Good thing we don't score going off of last year's stats.

I like Boldin and Wayne, but :lmao: Not even Smith. I guess I could see #4, but Fitz is on the Madden cover. :football:

I think the reason he is going in the first is because the people that want him as their WR1 can't get him in the second. For example, I have the 9th pick in my draft. If I want Calvin, I have to take him at the 1.9 because he isn't making it to the 2.4.Also, the running backs in this area are all pretty even so you can wait and just take the back who falls in the early second round.

Oh, and Calvin is a monser and I love watching him play.

A couple that I seem to value more than most and have on a lot of mock rosters

QB Carson Palmer - A risky pick but I can't think of another QB outside of the top 5 with his potential.

RB Ronnie Brown - Put me in the camp that thinks he finishes in the top 10 if not top 5.

WR Anthony Gonzalez - Even as the 3rd target for Manning, I expect him to well outperform his ADP.

If I had to pick one guy I really want it would be Palmer, considering where he will be drafted allows me to stack up on RB's and WR's early.

 (in a start 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE) At 1.09 take best WR available (Fitz, Moss, AJ, Calvin)

At 2.04 go WR/WR if one of the above is still available, otherwise best RB available

Last year was my first attempt at dynasty leagues. In the 2 startup leagues that I joined I targeted Pierre Thomas with the the idea that I would stash him for a year or 2. That worked out better than I'd hoped.

This year I joined 2 more startup dynasty leagues and targeted Tashard Choice. Again, I doubt that he'll be useful this year but in a couple of years I expect Jones and Choice to be the Dallas RB's.

The crazy part is that I'm probably taking Calvin over at least two of those guys.

I am pretty sure that Cassel is going to be better than Thigpen. Plus the offense should open up even more. I see KC and Houston as my really big surprise teams this year.

Brandon Jacobs goes for 20 TDs this year.

I have the #3 pick in a 10 team draft and really don't think I can pull the trigger but am scared he won't make it back.

Brian Robiskie in a 12 team league can be snatched in round 13-15.

I am not sold on Edwards. I don't think his head is in the game. If he has another year like 2008 Brian should be golden.

my .02

..gonna need to be on the field the whole year to see that many TD's and he's pretty much a lock to miss a few..

Put me in for Mark Bradley as well.
