I forgot to mention that I also appreciate the idea that Moss shouldn't get it because it would be further rewarding him for essentially slacking off and having a bad attitude in Oakland to the point he forced a below market value trade. In a way, I hope Moss never, ever wins any award for an individual accomplishment in this league.
My guess is that Moss wins comeback player of the year this year.

While Brady is the obvious (runaway) choice....I can't figure out why Westbrook isn't a part of this discussion.

Brady if it is even close its BS !

favre had a great season as did Randy ( the only 2 other canidates ) But Brady likely throws for 50 TD's or more and close to 5K ! and the QB of a Team with a perfect record !

While Brady is the obvious (runaway) choice....I can't figure out why Westbrook isn't a part of this discussion.
He's having a great year but it's tough to talk about an MVP candidate on a team that is currently 5-8
Two questions though:1. Where would they be without Westy?2. Are they a normal 5 - 8 squad? (Look at some of their losses...they aren't a great team, but they aren't a terrible one either)Again....Brady should run away with this, but I'd put Westbrook ahead of at least a couple of the choices in this poll.

 at people keep mentioning Westbrook
I can't figure out why an MVP has to be on a deep playoff team.
Well for one, there is a lot of room between 5-8 and a deep playoff team.Second of all, we're talking about most valuable player. The logic says, if he was so valuable they would be better than 5-8. If they stink that badly, then they don't even deserve having their most valuable player as the mvp of the league. There are a ton of reasons.

I could see Favre getting that - but it's kind of hard when so many people don't think you ever left.

Brady is a no-brainer here. What I don't get is why all the Favre talk. Romo has better number across the board then old man Brett and he isn't even mentioned! Why??

Brady, even though I think Favre has done more with less around him.
No doubt. If anything as far as Brady is concerned, it should be a co-MVP between him and Moss as neither would be putting up these numbers without the other......unless Moss was in Green Bay. then it would be Favre with the 40+ TD's.
Would Favre and Moss also be co-MVP's in that scenario? Please.

Cowboys were expected to be far better, and have more weapons than the Pack. Packers weren't even on the radar for this kind of year most places. Brady rates far ahead of Romo comparing guys whom you expected to have team success. Trhat's why he isn't mentioned. Plus there's mention of Moss getting comeback player of the year, and Romo's not a candidate there either.Honestly, I don't think Moss deserves comeback player of the year for coming back from slacking off.

I am not going to stat hunt...he was a bottom 5 QB last year...

his passer rating may have been the lowest of any QB that didn't get benched...

He was bad the two previous years but not the four you claim.2003 65.4%, 3361 yards, 32 TDs, 21 INTs

2004 64.1%, 4088 yards, 30 TDs, 17 INTs

If you can make a valid point on those two years I would think anyone would concede 2005 and 2006.

peyton should have won MVP(alexander) with ease in his record breaking season, brady will smash that season to pieces with no other RB having a record year. he is on pace for the single greatest season of any position EVER- he may squeak by with MVP

No doubt. If anything as far as Brady is concerned, it should be a co-MVP between him and Moss as neither would be putting up these numbers without the other......unless Moss was in Green Bay. then it would be Favre with the 40+ TD's.
I think it is very ironic that Brady never got the respect he deserved when he had minimal weapons, and now that he has tremendous weapons some feel that takes away from his performance. He will never be appreciated as he should. I'm not exactly sure why...not a first round pick? His coach? He is one of the best ever and is having the best statistical season ever. He should win the MVP.

Seems to me many people are too caught up in the Brady Vs. Manning debate. Rather than enjoying both of them people are too obsessed with trying to bring the other one down. In the case of Brady vs. Favre, I think it is just the fact that Favre seems to be a more likable guy. Brady comes off as a pretty boy, a guy featured on GQ magazines dating supermodels. Favre seems more of an average joe, someone you could actually carry a conversation with. I guess in this case Favre's popularity is causing for the debate. (Although I think people with common sense would realize Brady is having the by far superior year and the mvp discussion really isn't close)

Moss. Take away Brady and insert a lesser tier talent like Derrick Anderson, Hasselbeck, Cutler, Kitna, Schaub, etc. and this offense would still be devastating. Remove Moss and insert a lesser talent and you have last year's offense for the most part, which only scored 385 points.

In fact, if Tom Brady went down with some career ending injury, they'd probably cut a deal with Cleveland for either Derrick Anderson or Brady Quinn and not miss a beat on offense.

Dont pass a poor opinion off as fact. Fine to have an opinion of course. But when it undermines a leader of 3 championship teams and suggests a far lesser player would have 47 TDs with 5 INTS and be undefeated entering week 15, you end up sounding pretty useless.

You are on crack my dear sir to think that lol.Owens and Westbrook should be mentioned. Westy right now is the best back in the league. Owens, if Dallas wanted to run up the score with NE cake schedule then he would have ALOT better numbers. Take Owens out of Dallas and they have Whitten, thats it. No WR at allTake Moss out of NE and they still have Welker, Stallworth, Watson. Take Westy out of Phi and that team wins maybe 3 games. He is their receiving and rushing game.

I think I voted for Brady the first day this poll was submitted. It was Brady then without question. If anything, he has only strengthened his position in this race.

Moss may get a couple of votes. Favre, Romo, Westy, or even Manning could all get maybe one vote, probably from some local writer with a mancrush. But if anyone thinks this is going to be close when the real voting is done they are certifiably insane or just plain ignorant. You don't break these records without getting that award. There would have to be another player, on another team, breaking a similar record, a la LT2 would have to have last season simultaneously to compete.

Moss is the only guy making a case and he can't catch a pass that doesn't ultimately strengthen Brady's case for being the MVP. The only arguement is that he has an intangible yet profound effect on Brady's abiltiy to throw 50+ TD's with sngle digit interceptions. But so do five offensive lineman.

Moss is likely going to break Rice's TD record, even if it takes him 4 more games than Rice to do it. But a quarterback's job is far more difficult than a receiver's. That point isn't even debatable.

Brady. The team is always winning, and it because of him.

ANyone saying Moss is gretly underappreciating Wes Welker. He may be even more valuable than Moss as to why the team is scoring so much. No was Moss gets single covered unless the safeties are creeping up to play Welker.

Romo is more of an impact to Dallas than Owens...we all saw what Dallas looked like with Bledsoe back therealso Dallas has Crayton and Hurd which are fine recieversWestbrook is not the best back in the NFL right now...Peterson > Westbrook....as well as a few others
