Who to drop for a waiver pickup... (1 Viewer)

I have both them and need to descide between them. Ingram was a little uninspiring last year and will move to the SLB more than likely thats if Durrant doesnt get into the starting lineup. Williams put some serious takles up late however isnt slotted to start this year but should get a fair amount of playing time. Who would you guys vote has the most upside between them. I believe Leon would but just looking for justification. We start 1DL/1LB/1DB 2flex. Scoring is fairly avg...1pt tackle, .5 assist, 2 sack and 3 int., 2ff and 2fr

Thanks

Williams has more long term upside - I think he could work out inside or outside, and frankly, he looked better than Jackson or Davis when he was in last year. Ingram may produce decent numbers here and there, and he's a playmaker. There could even be a period where he gets more opportunity as they ramp down Peterson's role before Durant is ready to assume it, but I like Leon better as a long term commodity.

Are you sure you have to drop one? I checked our league and this isn't that one, but I would not want to drop either.

Ingram stint at SLB is worrisome, but there's no guarantee that's long-term. He was pressed into action a little early last year. Jax coaches said as much and they felt he was the type who would emerge in a year or two and be a star. I agree. I think he is a very underrated talent, but he comes along a little slowly. If he's destined to be a fixture at SLB, then he's not worth much, but I think this is the better player between the two.

Williams had two nice statistical games last year when pressed into service, but he was run over in both games. I certainly wouldn't look at his numbers v Tampa Bay and Baltimore and say he was better than Jackson or Davis... and Thompson is an underrated player inside there also. It's crowded.

As Bloom thinks Williams can play inside or outside, I think Ingram could end up anywhere in a 4-3. In the 3-4 there's really just one position that pays off for us IDPs -- 25% of the available positions are worthwhile. In a 4-3 two payoff -- 67% chance.

Just confusing the issue, Yort! Keep 'em both for another year!

Ingram did show some nice natural big play instincts last year, and is no slouch. I suppose both have less than ideal situations. Who is taking the roster spot that Ingram or Williams will vacate?

I like Ingram. His situation isn't very good, but he's got the talent to be good in the right situation. When he was drafted, they knew he had a lot of ability, but needed some coaching and experience... I see him as a guy on the rise, assuming he can ever escape from SLB.
