Who trusts Garrard this week v HOU (1 Viewer)

Clifford

Footballguy
I picked him up this week in my 2QB flex, and if I am not willing to start him this week I should have never picked him up. Who is rolling with him this week, and what are your projections? Guy is just soooo erratic. He could go anywhere between 275 & 5 to 160 1 & 3.

I friggin' benched Ryan for Garrard!!! I don't know if I can call that trust in him or just stupidity on my part but if he's ever going to come thru in a game where FF owners are counting on him, this surely should but it!!!!

Here is my analysis.

If you need a win this week to make your playoff run role with Garrard, he has a juicy matchup against HOU.

If you already have a playoff spot secured and need more of a consistent play role with someone else.

I had to choose between Flacco and Garrad this week and went with the consistency in Flacco. We will see how it pans out.

Floor 225/2

Max 350/3

How could you not trust him? Every QB the Texans have faced has thrown for big yardage, multiple TDs, or both.

Yours was not a bad problem to have, but there are no risks in starting Garrard. He will put up numbers this week and he's always a threat against the Texans with his feet.

QBs v Hou:

Wk 1 Manning 433yds 3 TDs 0 INT

Wk 2 McNabb 426 yds 1 TD 0 INT

Wk 3 Romo 284 yds 2 TD 0 INT

Wk 4 Gradkowski 278 yds 2 TDs 2 INT

Wk 5 Manning 297 yds 3TD 2 INT

Wk 6 Cassel 201 yds 3 TDs 0 INT

Wk 8 Manning 268 yds 2 TDs 0 INT

Wk 9 Rivers 295 yds 4 TDs 1 INT

McNabb was the only QB not to throw multiple scores, yet he still got his yardage.

Did the same thing. Already worried he somehow manages to suck. :wall:

Team i drafted for is started Garrard vs Houston...his other option was Matt Ryan..who i would have started but meh

I see an interesting pattern here. 6 of the 8 QB's against Houston are elite QB's. The only two not elite are Gradkowski and Cassel, and Cassel ain't that bad a QB. Gradkowski's the only one who's not starting today. So could the Houston defense be unlucky because it's been facing great QB's who will always put up points?

Don't forget that Garrard plays much better at home. He is a must start over most guys. There are maybe 8 QB's who should start over him.

No. They're just terrible. End of story.

Statistically he's worse at home actually. 62.4% completion at home vs. 75.0% away. 5.73 Y/A vs. 9.55 Y/A away. He does have a 5:2 TD:INT at home vs. 8:5 away, but 4 of the 5 INTs came in the game at SD. Still starting him with confidence though.

My luck this year is that Houston will play defense like the steelers this week because im starting Garrard for the first time this year...ugh :)

I have Rivers, Vick and Garrard in 1 of my dynasty leagues.

Got to go with Vick this week over Garrard in that one.

In another dynasty league I did pick up Garrard with Rivers on a bye and I am starting him over Palmer.

He earned his reputation as a road-failer last year. This year he he's only played 3 road games with one being against a disinterested Cowboys defense and another against a non-existent Bills defense. Obviously those games count, but I think the conventional wisdom that Garrard is a much better play at home still stands.

On my teams with Rivers, Rodgers, or Brees, David Garrard was my top priority to pick up this week. I'm very comfortable starting him at home against the Texans.

Gotcha.

He's going for me with Rivers onabye. Lucky option to pluck for the week being home and playing soft defense.

Marcedes Lewis is going to hulk the texans d.

This is the perfect storm for Garrard: Plays way better at home AND draws the Texans.

If you aren't starting him in this one, at home, vs. an historically apocalyptic pass defense....you may as well just put him on the waiver wire right now.

Planning on starting him over Schaub and S. Hill.

I want to start MSW as well, but have some good options in my dynasty.... Trying not to go 'whole hog' with the Jags O. Guess I've been burned a few too many times with them....

Garrard's yardage numbers this year:Week 1 vs Den: 170Week 2 vs SDG: 173Week 3 vs Phi: 105Week 4 vs Ind: 163Week 5 vs Buf: 178Week 6 vs Ten: 49 (think he was benched)Week 7 DNPWeek 8 vs Dal: 260 Just wanted to point out he hasn't gone over 200 yards all season except for last week, so I find it hard to see 300+ yards tomorrow even as bad as Houston may be. I do see at least 2 TD's though so 20 fantasy points sounds about right. I'm trying to find someone for the rest of the season with one WW move left (had Romo/Stafford/Henne) and I do think Garrad will have a decent week this week, not sure I can trust him for the playoff run though. Anyone rolling with him down the stretch?

I agree. Starting him after Stafford went down.

Starting him over Big Ben against NE.
And there it is.......the one I've been waiting to see since I'm beating myself up over the same decision. Seriously don't know which way to go here.
Doing the same thing, but I need some magic sitting at 6-10 for the season. I have nothing to lose, otherwise I would have gone Ben
6-10... do you play preseason  also in the i played Garrard and sat Ryan camp and not to happy about it but damn didnt know ladarius webb couldnt cover me much less a wr in the nfl

Starting Garrard this week with confidence that he will do well. Other options are Rivers (bye), Stafford (out), & Whitehurst (sucks), so I have to start him, but also am rolling out MSW and Marcedes Lewis in same league!

Same here. Picked Garrard to start over Schaub in a league where I'm facing a team this league that scores as much per week as I do and he had Roddy White last night.

Won both my baseball leagues, a combined 16-2 in my two football leagues. Im accustomed to winning. Garrard will help continue that trend. Start Garrard.

Not only am I starting Garrard with confidence, but I just traded for Simms-Walker basically for this week's matchup against a guy I am fighting for a playoff spot with. I expect both to have big games.

Bingo did the same. I traded Woodhead for MSW yesterday...

I think Garrard is a no brainer against Hou this week. It feels like all Hou games are high scoring on both sides of th ball
