I see the WR changes in Wash causing a slight drop in Santana's value - Lloyd and Randal El will help Portis more than S Moss.

Roy Williams will benefit from Kitna and Martz and take a solid step up to the Top 12 WR class. If they can settle the QB situation and OL issues, Roy could be a Top 10 for years to come...

I voted Roy.

Roy Williams, easily. Not only is his TD potential higher, he will be more consistent than Moss. Who is BOOM/BUST all of the time. Williams had such a killer second half of the season, along with the additions on the offense, and better QB play. There is no doubt in my mind.

killer secon dhalf of the season... he had that one 3 td game and then i dont htink he cracked 70 yds, he got some tds sure but all those 32 yards games would sucked if he didnt grab a td

You know, Detroit also faces some weaker D's when you look at Minnesota and Green Bay twice each....Washington meanwhile faces some pretty tough D's in their own division.

Roy Williams, I HOPE, has his huge break out season.

I think with Williams, people are looking upward while with Moss, everyone is hoping he can perform somewhat near his level from last year.

Williams has a better opportunity to surpass all expectations and the talent to bring some consistency to the Detroit passing game. With a steady QB and Martz calling the plays, Williams should be in for a breakout season.

I don't see Moss being able to maintain the high level of play that he showed last season. Moss was able to take short some passes for some phenominal gains and I don't see his YAC being anywhere near what it was last season. 10 catches of 40+ yards and 24 for 20+ is quite remarkable and caught many defenses off guard, I don't see this happening again.

That said, I voted Williams.

I voted Moss but think it is very close and wouldn't argue real strongly against Williams. I have Moss at #12 and Williams at #14.

Moss - 1500 / 10

Williams - 1300 / 9

I see Moss winning this one.

Bringing in some elusive WR3s is only going to make him better.

i could see williams breaking 1000 yards... moss maybe... but moss has done it before.. williams we keep waiting on..

I obstain.. i own moss

What do you project for the other receivers on Washington?
Garbage.Think '04 Eagles. Big WR1, some TE1, little WR2/3, some RB1...

Brunell has a lot of WR3s and an elite WR1.

This means a lot of 3 and 4 WR sets on a team that's now built for drawing coverage off of Portis and Moss.

Also, I have WAS winning the NFC this year, and I think Brunell will have solid QB1 numbers this year in his last stint as a pro (Jason Campbell Show next year).

I had Roy Williams closer to around 1150/7, but I looked into it a lot more after reading that great stat-loaded post about the Lions offenses. I mean, I'm not kiddng anyone here... Lions will be in a race for last place in the North with MIN, but garbage time yards and prime time yards don't make a difference to the fantasy scoreboard... why should it?

I'm confused how Brunell is going to have QB1 numbers if the rest of the receivers are going to be garbage.Personally, I see Moss getting similar numbers in targets but I think his receiving average is down due to not breaking the gap passes into long gains/touchdowns.

well...Moss - 1500 /10

Cooley - 600/8

Randle El - 600/4

Portis - 500/2

Lloyd - 300/2

Others - 200/2

That's 3700/28... figure maybe 13-14INTs.... maybe more who knows.

Those are Trent Green Numbers.

I realize they are lofty, but I just believe in Saunders/Gibbs, and think Brunell can do it.

That's cool.I have Brunell in the 3,000/20/15 range, just wanted to see what you were thinking and why.

Thanks for the help.

Edit to include your edit and to add: I have the offense leaning much more heavily on the run so I can see where our numbers will be differeing. I think this O is set for a big season.

Just remember that Saunders is running the show this year, so expect a fulchrum shift toward his types of numbers (KC).

I think Portis can be this year's #2RB behind Johnson, although I wouldn't be bold enough to pick him higher than 4.

That's why I picked them to win the NFC this year (with that lockdown defense). Gibbs has set up a team for two title runs, this year with Brunell and '07 with Campbell before he retires.

I see him getting there this year and possibly winning it next year.

Roy.

This isn't even close.
And I understand why. Redskins go out and get Randle El, Lloyd and bring in Saunders. Cooley turns into the next Gonzo and Moss the next Kennison. Brunell is old, and this offense will be the Clinton Portis Show.It makes sense. I just think it's wrong. Cooley isn't the next Gonzo, and Moss is a lot more talented than Kennison.

And take a look at this:

Career highs for Redskins WRs:

Moss - 1483/9 ('05)

Randle El - 601/3 ('04)

Lloyd - 733/5 ('05)

Thrash - 833/8 ('01)

Patten - 824/5 ('02)

Cooley - 774/7 ('05)

Jacobs - 178/0 ('04)

Why would you expect a bunch of WR3s and a solid TE to lower his numbers?

Even if Brunell only threw for 3000 because Portis got the ball 60% of the time, half of it would go to Moss. That's what happened last year.

And somehow I expect with the FA signings, they don't plan to mirror last year's offense.
