Just a gut feeling, but my guess is Mehlhaff and that he finishes as a top 3 kicker.

NO fans are speculating that Gramatica wins the job as he's been more consistent on FGs and kickoffs.

Any idea when a final decision will be made?

I'm also curious re. Coutu and Mare in Seattle...

I know the rook missed a 40 yd FG last night and Automatica has made everything in the preseason games.

Yeah, late in the 4th too, right? Man, I think if he makes that he gives Payton an escuse to keep him. I dunno though, he has hit a couple "8 irons" on the kickoffs, which was where he really needed to win the competition, more so than the FGs.Had him pegged as a great sleeper in that high powere offense, but I can't get excited about Grammatica. Probably moving on to the big legged kid up in the rockies, Matt Prater. Less XP but the bonus for 50 yarders will make up for it.

Any chance they keep both...if so I want to stay clear, but they have not been going in many drafts and if you can get the right one could be a steal for a top 5 K.
