who will be this years blow up player(s), like Brady, Manning and LT in past years. A player(s) that could carry a FF team to the FF Superbowl.

QB/Palmer- to talented and to many weapons not to have a great come back year

WR/Chad Johnson- I think he has something to prove this year. He and Palmer will be a great combo to have this year.

RB/LT- not a reach but I think he is in the prime of his career(best RB I have ever watched) and has a great team around him with a coach that loves to make the RB the focal point of the offense. I do believe we could see 2000 total yards and 25 total TDs.

QB: Tom Brady. He was always good with Deion Branch/Troy Brown as his main targets. Now he has Randy Moss. That's a huge change in circumstances. I expect another 40'ish TD year.

RB: Joseph Addai. He performed very well last year in his first year as the starter. He's going to be the main guy yet again, and with another year in the system I can see him putting up very good numbers. He had 15 total TDs last year and missed a little time. This year I can see 20 total TDs.

WR: Randy Moss. See QB. This guy is heads above the rest when he has a competent QB throwing to him.

Jones-Drew

Reggie Wayne

Housh

These are the three I have huge expectations for this season.

and my surprise passers:

Warner and Matt Moore - something tells me one or both will have a huge impact this year

Jay Cutler, Derek Anderson - Both will finish near the top 5.

MJD, AD - Will finish as the #1 and #2 RB this year, and yes, in that order.

AJ, Marques Colston - Again, the #1 and 2, and also in that order.

Tony Sheffler - Only Witten will finish with more FF points for a TE.

Steven Jackson will finish as the #1 RB in fantasy. contract year, healthy OL and he is a bit lighter

QB: Big Ben, Aaron Rodgers - I think Big Ben has the opportunity to finish top five, great value where he is being picked. Aaron Rodgers to shock a lot of people and do very well.

RB: Sjax - Way too much went wrong with that Rams O for him not to put up huge numbers this year. I predict he is RB1/2 by years end.

WR: AJ/Fitz - If (big if, I guess) AJ may be the ticket to the big dance. I am a believer in Fitz this year, I predict WR1/2.

WR- Steve Smith

RB- Steven Jackson

QB- Tony Romo

TE- Vernon Davis

Sleepers- Warner, Ginn, Michael Turner

Super Sleepers- Roy Hall, Tatum Bell

Blow up candidates:

QB: Tom Brady/NE - (Another 40-45 TDs should be a lock)

RB: Frank Gore/SF - (Will have his best year of his career)

WR: Steve Smith/ Caro. (Delhome is healthy and ready to start finding his groove with Smittee)

TE: Jason Witten/Dallas (will be #1 TE this year)

Sleepers:

QB: David Garrard/Jax

RB: Jonathan Stewart/Caro.

WR: Santonio Holmes/Pitts.

TE: Randy McMichael/Rams

You really thin Moore qualifies as a guy who could carry a FF team to the Super Bowl, this year?I like him enough as a sleeper, a guy I'll target in deeper leagues and keep an eye on in all, but I'm thinking QB12 at absolute best.

Warner could be a top 5 QB.

I liked what I saw and expect improvement in year two. Also, the improvement at WR with Muhsin and Hackett would help.

I'd love to hear explanations on MJD and Scheffler.I'll say Maroney breaks out with something like 1,400 combined yards and 16 TD's, similar to Addai last year, only I think their will be more rushing yards and fewer receiving.I fully expect the newly signed Earnest Graham to continue to exceed expectations and finish among the top-10ish RB's. 250-1100-11 with about 40-300 receiving seems doable.

- MJD as the top RB is a bit over the top, but we should see him within the top 10.- Good call on Maroney. He could be huge this year if the Pats decide they want to balance out their offense.- Not sold on Graham. The Bucs not paying him a whole lot says to me they aren't quite sure he can handle the load. And then there Caddy and Dunn there looking over his shoulder. JMO.

Besides the usual suspect you can only get in the first round:

Darren Mcfadden. He might split carries and we don't even know how good he is on the NFL level so he's certainly not without risk but he's a guy who if he gets the carries I could taking a team to the championship.

Brandon Marshall -provided he does not get suspended. I think his off season issues push him down the list and I could see him being the #1 WR in PPR leagues.

QB---Brady, Schaub

RB--AP, SJax, Westbrook, Grant, McGahee

WR--AJ, Moss, TO

TE--Witten, Gonzo

Sleeper MVP/SOD----Marvin Harrison

Explanation on MJD is easy enough. His numbers are ABSURD- he's regularly outscoring guys who are getting 50% more touches than he is already. If someone believes that Taylor's going to fall fast (and expecting a high-mileage 32-year old RB with an extensive injury history to fall fast isn't exactly an out-there projection), then it's reasonable for that person to expect Jones-Drew is in for a meteoric rise, and when an RB who is already in the top 10 experiences a meteoric rise, you get a season that legends are made of.Scheffler's a bit sneakier of a play, but consider this: In 2006, Plummer played the first 11 games and Cutler played the last 5. In the first 11 games, Scheffler had 6 catches for 67 yards and no scores- total. In the last 5 games, he had 12/219/4 (an absurd 18.25 yards per reception). In the last 4, he had 11/204/4. That's about 3/50/1 per game. Awesome numbers. In 2007, he was injured and got off to another slow start, failing to register a single offensive statistic in the first four games of the year. From then on, though... Scheffler put up about 4/46/.4 per game (64/746/7 over a full season). He has yet to put together a full season of high-level production, but he's shown lots of flashes of elite production. He's entering his 3rd season, so his game is continuing to mature. He's best friends and roommates with Cutler, whose game is also maturing (and whom many project a big leap forward from), so it stands to reason Scheffler might stand to benefit from that maturation. I like both picks, but I'm going chalk all the way with mine.QB- Payton Manning. Brady might be the flavor of the week, but Payton's been doing this for a LOT longer. I don't expect New England to be anywhere NEAR as unbalanced this year as last (and if they are, I expect teams to be more ready for it). Indy, on the other hand, is going to keep doing what Indy's always been doing since Payton came to town. Manning was a fantasy force last year despite playing with an offense in disarray at times. If anyone is getting 45+ TDs this year, my money is on Manning with a healthy supporting cast.RB- Brian Westbrook. Tomlinson might be the easy choice, but there are too many things that worry me there (career workload, coaching, no more Michael Turner to spell him). Westbrook has been a force of nature in yardage-heavy leagues, and has been the kind of guy who carries you to championships with very low TD totals. If his TD totals ever see an increase, he's going to be untouchable.WR- Andre Johnson. His numbers last year speak for themselves. He's like Randy Moss, except unlike Moss I'm not worried that his offense is going to suddenly become more balanced (because it was already pretty balanced to begin with).TE- Gates. Witten is the flavor of the month, but Gates is still the best fantasy Tight End in football, regardless of your league format or scoring system.

Blow up candidates:

QB: Tom Brady/NE - (Another 40-45 TDs should be a lock)
Manning had 28 TDs the year after he had 49. Not there is necessarily any meaningful correlation, but I could easily see a somewhat regression-to-the-mean type of year such as 30 TDs. Still great, but not an outlier.Years like Brady and Manning had are very rare, and require a whole confluence of factors to work.

Maybe you should read the OP and see what he was asking for. Doesn't mean you're going to get all these guys on one team. These are the guys that I think have the potential to "blow up" and carry a team to the fantasy playoffs. You know, kinda like how the thread asked to do? It's not listed as a team, just guys at each position.

Rather than comment on "stud players" (rd1-4 material) that imo will blow up and lets be honest every player in the top 50 is quite capable of elite seasons by one measure or another... let's take a look at guys that can be had in the mid rounds that have potential for double digit TDs from WR/RBs or are in the right situation to greatly exceed their draft position.

While preparing for my favorite league, I often do a mock draft every week or 2 with the Draft Dominator, using the Projections Dominator (and averaging 5 experts for the most part). Knowing the positional tendencies and favored players of my good friends, often lets my final mock draft of the summer be accurate on about 25% of the actual player picks, and mostly accurate on the positional picks (did Owner A pick a RB - WR - QB - WR in rounds A-Z, etc).

So anyways, the positional rankings are just what the Draft Dominator gave me with my 10 man league's scoring rules (basically Yahoo! with return yards). So i went through the results and a few "BLOW UP PLAYERS" players of interest stuck out to me.

06.10 RB25 Thomas Jones NYJ/5 Tony

** Jones is a great candidate for a RB3, or a RB2 if you build WR/QB depth before nabbing your 2nd RB. Let's imagine the Jets are closer to their playoff run of 2006, so they're at least a 7-10 win team. Someone has to score TDs in New York besides Coles & Leon Washington on special teams. Most projections have Jones getting about 1000 yards rushing, imagine if he puts up 8-10 TD with that. That would make Jones more like RB8-RB15 instead of RB25. For teams with a super-stud RB1 (LT, AP, Jackson, Westbrook) that may feel comfortable waiting for a RB2 and instead choose to get stud QB/WR/WR/TE in rounds 2-5, Jones is a good guy to target in rounds 5-8.

09.01 WR38 Anthony Gonzalez Ind/4 VMI Cadets

** It took Reggie Wayne into year3 to break WR20. Both Wayne & Gonzalez are Colts 1st round picks, and this franchise rarely misses on a 1st round pick. If Marvin Harrison is out, Gonzalez will shoot up the ADP charts & rankings. But if come August & Harrison looks like he will try to play in 2008, Gonzalez will be a guy you can grab in the WR30 range that is capable of a WR15-20 ceiling on a potent colts offense. A great find as your 1st WR off the fantasy bench.

09.08 RB33 Rudi Johnson Cin/8 P-MEN

** Remember last year when Rudi was the safest stud RB pick after LT? The guy was reliable for 1300yds & 12 tds. If you're willing to take a chance on Rudi and he regains that stud RB form, your lineup will have a solid RB2. If you took a gamble on Rudi but arent sure he can sustain, but he gets off to a fast start you may even consider TRADING / selling high and turning him into a stud WR/TE.

11.01 QB13 Derek Anderson Cle/5 P-MEN

**

Yes the Browns have an evil schedule. But a Pro Bowl season, a combined 32 tds, a summer working his weapons could make Anderson a guy with a floor of 25TDs and a ceiling much higher. Now in some drafts Anderson is a guy that will go in the QB5-8 range, so it depends if your league has any BROWNS homers or people that are just high on DA. But if Anderson is on the board in rounds 8,9,10, or 11--this guy is a great value play. Don't let the Shark who is holding off on QBs to build the rest of his lineup draft Anderson as his #1 QB!!

12.01 QB17 Jake Delhomme Car/9 VMI Cadets

**

Great QBBC candidate. If he survives 16 games, this guy will get the job done in yardage & TDs. His injury concerns are what hold him in the QB15-20 range.

12.08 TE15 Zach Miller Oak/5 Generals

**

It seems like all the stud TE's are under age 29, so how can there possibly be another elite TE to emerge? I tend to like Owen Daniels as a TE to target in drafts, but Miller has a great situation and from watching this guy play a few times in 2007, he seems like a fluid receiver that will flourish and his production will only be limited by his QB play. Assuming JaMarcus Russell can manage to live up to his #1 draft pick status and play like a top15 QB in the next year or 2, Miller will be a big part of his success. Miller seems like a great player to grab as an early TE2 (esp. if you take Heap or Shockey & want a reliable insurance policy), or if you are ballsy take Miller as a late TE1, but dont wait too long!

15.04 RB48 Chris Brown Hou/8 Dave - CDs

**

Someone in Houston will have to tote the rock. Chris Brown runs fast & strong, and his physical conditioning is always top notch. If things fall into place for the Texans, Kubiak may be giving Brown a few hundred yard games this season.

If he stops stabbing girlfriends  I agree. Also Steve Smith and McNabb/R. Brown(crossing fingers).Ricky Williams if Ronnie Brown is slow to return.
