Who Will Champ Cover vs. The Chargers? (1 Viewer)

Just wondering if anyone has any insight as to who Champ might shadow-- if he does that at all.

I know he covered AJ Green exclusively, but does he normally pick a guy or cover a side or mix it up? Anyone know what side Floyd and Alexander normally take?

Any insight appreciated. Thanks.

Historically, LCB and just stuck to that side of the ball. Past five weeks or so, he seems to have had more of a role in shadowing the top receiver threat. That said, this thread is incomplete without SSOG input, tbh.

I'm also interested in knowing the answer to this. My hope is he covers Floyd so I can start Alexander with confidence.

TO me, personally Champ is no longer the type of CB that you shy away from. He may not be the best CB on that team anymore!! Great career, future HOF'er.

I don't know but I'm wondering if San Diego doesn't treat this like a playoff game and go guns ablazing downfield, especially if Mathews is out. This is nearly their season on the line.

I tentatively have Alexander penciled in to start.

I'd say there's a good argument for Champ as the #2 corner in the league. Top 5 for sure. I wouldn't bench an elite WR against him (Green, Calvin, etc.) but anyone else and I'd be worried.

I get so carried away by the SP Hype Train, when I see HOF in a thread like this I just assume it must be about the mighty DX, same class as Spiller and William Powell

Champ is great and all, but elite WRs have still been able to put up excellent stats against Denver this year. Roddy White, Wes Welker, and AJ Green have each had 95+ yards and a TD against them this year. And a lot more WRs have been able to put up 10+ points in PPR leagues against them. So all things considered, I wouldn't be too afraid to start any of my WRs against Denver.

It's still the same Phil Rivers that turned the ball over *6* times in his own stadium about a month ago. Guys were coming off the bench to get picks that game.

Outside of Gates, I think you have to lower expectations and downgrade both Floyd/Alexander to potential WR3s this week.
