Philly is hot and has plenty of playoff experience. I like NO, but I think Philly takes this one.

Peyton seems to have the Iggles number ...but barring a significant injury to Lito Sheppard... I think the Eagles take the game. I like the Eagles offense versus the Saints D more than the Saints O versus the Eagles D.

I think a dislocated elbow is fairly significant. Reid already mentioned it in his press conference. I don't know if either team can stop the other's offense. (Go Birds)

I normally would say the Saints Win (those two words dont sound right together), but with Garcia the Eags can win against anyone.

Total toss up.

Game of the week.

I can't even pick a team here.

Ok well I guess it's the NFL so any team can beat any team on a given Sunday but I don't think Eagles are in the same class as any of the AFC teams.

The only reason I'm taking Philly in this one is because of a huge edge in playoff game experiance. If Philly can use that experiance to build an early lead, it could be a long night for Brees and the Saints. If they can't, the game could easily turn into a Saints rout instead.

On paper, this should be the best game of the weekend.......

I think talentwise these teams are about equal. I just think the Saints are gonna be extremely fired up playing their first playoff home game. I'm not sure it will be possible for the Eagles (or any other team for that matter) to match type of emotion.

I think William James (think that's what he wants to be called) will play as well as Lito now that he's playing for a contract in the bigtime. He's played really well in his time on the field this year.

I like the Eagles in this one.

Wait...is this the first home Saints playoff game ever?

No it's not. I didn't mean their first home playoff game ever......

New Orleans has too many weapons on offense for Jim Johnson to dial up some pressure (especially if Lito Sheppard is limited.) In their first game, Philly tries blitzing in the first half and Brees ate that up either Bush in the flat or Coleston/Horn running a slant.

The real matchup will be Philly's run game vs New Orleans' run defense. But Philly is going to need the ground game to get going early to stop the Saints offense from jumping on them. I see it being very hard for Philly to consistantly push the Saints D around early on in the Superdome. I expect the Saints and the Dome to be jacked up early on much like the Colts defense was.

I expect the game to go very similarly to the regular season matchup with these teams. Saints go up early, hit a lull in the 3rd quarter and let Philly back into it, but they have too many weapons and will break a big play in the 2nd half and that'll be the difference in the game.

And we've had home playoff games before. We won our only playoff game in 2001 at home vs the Rams when Hakim dropped the ball....proving that there is a God.

yea, this could go either way but I like NO here in a close game. Perhaps determined by a last second fg.

Saints get Hollis Thomas (DT) and Joe Horn back plus Marques Colston, who has been running at less than full speed, has had another 2 weeks of rest.

Eagles just snuck by a Giants team that was playing horribly for the majority of this game.

Saints beat a Giants team that was playing poorly just a couple of weeks ago.

I think the Saints take this one, but it's going to be a fantastic game on both sides, most likely.

I think the Eagles season comes screeching to a halt. They are playing above and beyond and it will not continue. Garcia will be the achilles heel - I think the Saints win this one going away 31-13.

Philly seems to be getting a lot of love because of their win streak under Garcia. I just took a look at it and I am a bit underwhelmed.

The Garcia era started with a 24 point loss to Indy.

Then they beat Carolina by 3. The Saints loss to Carolina in week 4 by 3 and their 2nd string lost by 10 in the final game.

They beat Washington by 2. The Saints lost to Washington by 6.

They beat the Giants by 14. The Saints beat the Giants by 23.

They beat the Cowboys by 16. The Saints beat the Cowboys by 25, but they started kneeling the ball at the Cowboys 5 with 3 mins left or it would have been 32.

Their 2nd string beat Atlanta by 7. The Saints beat Atlanta by 20 and 18.

Today they beat the Giants by 3. Again, the Saints beat the Giants by 23.

The two games that work in Philly's favor are the Carolina game and Washington, but both games were close losses for the Saints (if you exclude the week 17 10-point loss to Carolina). The next 4 Philly wins are all teams that the Saints beat by 20 points or more (recently too).

Admittedly Philly has the playoff experience and that is a huge benefit, but the Saints play at home--so that partially offsets that advantage. Philly is also going to be playing on a short week while traveling to NO. The Saints get two starters back (Joe Horn and Hollis Thomas) and a full speed Marques Colston. Remember that much of the Saints last few games featured Devery Henderson and Terrence Copper as starting WRs.

Not to mention the Saints already beat the Eagles at home......

I can buy that.
This looks like one of those matchups where everyone will take NO for granted and go with hot Eagles. I have a feeling the Saints will be extremely fired up and take this one.
I sure like the fact that this game will be played Sat night. Imagine how loud all those drunk cajuns will be. I have a feeling that the noise in the dome will be unbearable.

The Saints and Eagles were a combined 9-23 last year. Fans of this year's poor teams might take some comfort in that.
Yeah, because so many of those poor teams this year A) were forced to the road for an entire season by a hurricane and B) lost their starting QB while they were still in the playoff hunt. Yeah, take heed Lions fans. Last year was an aberration for the Eagles. The Saints signed Drew Brees and drafted Reggie Bush.

I hope you are wrong but thats the way i see it.I just don't have the faith in the Eagles D to keep the game from becoming a shootout/playing from behind game the Garcia led Eagle O just can't match.Lots of Eagles fans love to say ''Run the damn ball''.This is a game i will say that the Eagles O not only has to run the ball for running the balls sake but run it with dominace from the first possesion to the last if the Eagles are to win this game. They just can't start out the way they did yesterday with the Saints.

The clock strikes 12 for Garcia and the Eagles will be playing catch up early on just like the Colts game. Unfortunately for the Eagles playing catch up is not their strong suit, the Saints win this game in convincing fashion. Its been mentioned several times in thread that this game is going to be the best game this week but I just dont see it I would rather see Indy vs. Ravens or Pats vs. Chargers.

 3/4 of the dome will be drunk by 2:00pm. I have a feeling that the Atlanta game would be a good starting point when anticipating the noise level for Saturday night. And good lord, don't let the Saints have a good first drive. :shock:Edit: Sorry Lord. Let them have a good first drive, but protect my ears from bleeding!!!!

if the saints o-line can control the line of scrimmage then the saints win. the phillie offense is pretty pedestrian, despite all the talk about garcia's revival.

the saints are healthy, rested and focused. they have home field to boot. i see it as a 27-21 kind of game in favor of the saints.

I feel a 36-20 Saints win. Retribution for the '92 game :goodposting:

Honestly it seems strange to me that hardly anyone notices the Saints demolished 4 of their last 5 opponents (not counting week 17) by the score of 137 to 47. That's some dominating football.

New Orleans Saints win the game simply because I feel they have the better talent on offense.

Now for the real shocker. Reggie Bush is getting better and during this game he will throw a touchdown pass :pickle:

The #2 offense in the league is pedestrian?

Eagles barely beat the G-men at home, I like Saints here. 31-17.
What relevance does the Giants game have on this weeks game? Different systems, different players, different game plans.
exactly, hence why Eagles have less of a chance of winning against the Saints IMO.

about as much relevance as the last game the Saints played this yearIt is a division opponent and the Giants-Eagles games are historically close battles no matter the talent of either team. That was also the 3rd time this season that the two teams met - both teams know each others tendancies pretty well.
