Who Would Get Your Vote for Fantasy MVP Thru 3 Weeks..? (1 Viewer)

was just kind of thinking who would be the most valuable player right now taking into account their most likely ADP prior to the start of the season and what you have gotten back on your investment....

who has outplayed their draft position the most....?

but also I think this player would have to have actually helped you win games so far....meaning he was most likely "startable" for you.....so guys like Newton or Fitzpatrick while having performed pretty well so far, may not have neccessarily been in many starting lineups in the first 3 weeks....

a case could probably even be made for a guy like Brady.....even though drafted pretty high....he has been putting up monster stats...

Fred Jackson?

Ryan Matthews?

Sproles?

Welker?

Gronkowski?

I think Brady is the MVP for fantasy right now. if it was who has been the best value for the spot they were drafted I would go Gronkowski.

gronkowski got em in the 10th round.

Also Mcfadden got in the second. Both could be MVP / yeah I am in first place :excited:

seen McFadden mentioned a couple of times already.....guess I would counter that with he might not even be the best of the RB's....he was probably taken in late first to top second round....while he has been huge, a guy like Fred Jackson who I think was probably drafted by most as an RB2 and started, was usually available several rounds later.....and has been putting up good numbers....although he is about 5 ppg behind McFadden in some formats....

think I might be leaning towards Gronkowski or Welker....Welker....he was most likely started by everybody that had him and those type of monster games he had can almost single handily carry you and put some serious seperation between you and your opponent on a weekley basis at that position...

Gronk available even later and huge unless you were up against Finley last week or something...

Has to be Brady so far. hes put up an average of 40 pts in my league which is >10 higher than the next QB and almost 20 higher than the first RB.

Can I just vote for the Patriots? Brady, Welker, and Gronkowski would be my top three choices. There are three 3-0 teams in my league. I am one (with McCoy and F Jackson), one owns Brady, the other owns Welker. Without those two players, they are average teams at best.

Some of the other players that I would put there, combining their overall performance along with the value they provided for their owners...

Ray Rice

Lesean McCoy

Darren Mcfadden

Matt Forte

Ryan Mathews

Matt Stafford

Fred Jackson

Steve Smith (Car)

Cam Newton

On my teams it's Matt Stafford, but as for the entire league i would have to go with Welker, he has been dominating the leagues i'm in so far.

I am surprised that Fitzpatrick has not been mentioned. He was likely drafted very late or not at all and is currently a top 5 QB.

Has to be Gronkowski. He's either the 5th or 6th highest scoring player in all my leagues, and even in my 1.5 ppr TE heavy league he was an 8th round draft pick. In my WR/TE league, he was a 16th round draft pick. Crazy value.

So far I would say Welker... he has won me two games pretty much on his own. However, in my league nobody even drafted Gronk, Hernandez was taken I want to say around 8th-9th round and Gronk sat on the WW. Someone grabbed him after Week 1 and I'm sure he'd be happy about it if he wasn't 0-3.

I am surprised that Fitzpatrick has not been mentioned. He was likely drafted very late or not at all and is currently a top 5 QB.
mentioned him in the first post....but I just wonder how many people actually started him much these first three weeks as he was most likely most team's QB2 or even QB3 at the time....

If we are really talking about FF MVP it's easily Brady for me though I guess it could be somewhat relative to league scoring.

In my two main leagues both Brady owners are 3-0 and first in overall pts despite having some real holes elsewhere in their lineups.

If it is specific to draft position, then Bet Tate seems like the easy winner. Perhaps Cam Newton. But guys like McFadden, Brady, and even Welker were drafted too high to be considered.

Missed him in the opening post. Sorry bout that. After Ryan's first week and Fitzpatrick's I threw him in.

The deal with Brady is that there are a handful of guys not too far behind and some of them were drafted later (Brees, Stafford, Rodgers & Fitzpatrick).

I think McFadden isn't a bad call, but McCoy is right with him and Fred Jackson is next and was drafted much, much later than both of them.

It is either Welker or Gronkowski. IMO, Gronkowski is more of a difference maker at his position and was drafted at a better value. But I couldn't argue with anyone saying Welker, especially in PPR (31 catches in 3 games).

Brady for winning fantasy games, Gronk if its based on value.

I got lucky to get both this year in a 12-team, 20 player redraft. Yes, 3-0.

I guess I am confused. People replying in this thread keep referring to the rounds where a particular player was drafted. Now, i think I understand the concept of VBD. However, when someone poses the question about who the most valuable player in FF currently is, wouldnt that simply be referring to who is scoring the most points relative to other players at their position? The draft position is irrelevant at this point isnt it?

McFadden is leading our league in RB scoring, and he was a 2 rounder. LeSean is only a couple points behind. Ryan mathews is 5th about 10 points behind.

QBs much the same. Brady in front, with a few others not too far behind him.

Now, our true league MVP has to be Welker at this point. He is the number one WR, and Calvin is second. However, Calvin is second by about 30 points. Where each of them were drafted is not the point. The fact that there is such a disparity between 1 and 2, while other positions have only a scant few points differentiating the top players is the important point, isn't it?

The value to a team that has a postition that starts with a 10 point advantage over his opponent is great.

Now, let me be clear, I am not saying that Welker will continue at this pace and end the season as the number one WR by the current margin, but right now he has been the most valuable player on our league. Regardless of where he was drafted.

Doh. My bad. I just re-read the initial post. Perhaps I should have done that before I posted. :bag:

Welker. Yes I see the stuff on Brady.. but at 25 yds per passing and 10 yds receiving... Welker tearing it up, especially in PPR.

Irregardless of ADP "value? Brady & Megatron (those 2 have covered, so far, my crap RB corps)

Taking ADP into account, can't see how anyone is more valuable than Gronk

Gronkowski is without a doubt a difference maker with or without Hernandez being there he performs a job that no one else in that core is capable (maybe Ocho if he bulked up and was 4 years younger)But you simply cannot argue with Welkers overwhelming performance so far, simply dominating the position.IMO the argument is between the NE 3 (leaning Brady because all rivers flow throw him) they are on pace for record breaking seasons and show no sign of slowing down.

Gronkowski for me.

Drafted him in 5 of 6 money leagues and also paired him up with Pettigrew in the FBG contest. The guy lays crushing blocks which keeps him on the field over other TEs on the team and they have found out the monster target can get vertical down the center of the field and makes for an unfair goaline target for Brady,

There's no doubt he's at least been my MVP. The White Rhino has emerged as fantasy elite.

QB- Brady RB- DMac WR- Welker TE- Gronk. Think that Oak/NE game might be fun on Sunday?

Overall, gotta be Welker for me. Outstanding.

By the end of the year Calvin will have significantly distanced himself ahead of Welker.
In PPR, no freakin' way... hell, even in standard scoring Ii'd take some action on this ... I don't doubt that Calvin can finish ahead of Welker ... but SIGNIFICANTLY ahead? Ridiculous.

At this point what relevance is there to a players draft position? The MVP can't be a first rounder? Seems ridiculous to me.

McFadden

Brady

Welker/Stevie Johnson

Gronk

My kneejerk reaction was Brady, but then I looked at the numbers.

In my scoring system (non-PPR):

- Brady is only ahead of #2 Brees by 8 points. But, he's ahead of #10 Sanchez by 40 points.

- McCoy is only ahead of #2 McFadden by 2 points. He's ahead of #10 and #20 by 28, and 39 points, respectively

- Welker is ahead of #2 Megatron by 13 points in non-PPR and 28 (!) in PPR. In non-PPR, he's ahead of #10, #20, and #30 by 33, 40, and 49 points, respectively. In PPR, I would guess each of those goes up by 15 or more.

- Gronkowski is ahead of #2 Finley by 20 (!) points. He's ahead of #10 by 33 points.

I think you could make a case for any of them given the above, but I'd rank them:

1) Welker

2) Brady

3) Gronkowski

4) McCoy

Gronkowski. The supposed depth of the te position was overrated. Lewis, Kendricks, Cook, Clark, and Pettigrew (couldn't start him last week anyway) were likely drafted as part committee or te1s.

also, I felt early drafts with Arian Foster at #1 looked really good. Those teams were looking at MJD, Hillis, Mike Wallace, Jennings etc with regularity at the round 2-3 turn. so Arian Foster is sort of my reverse mvp as the would be strong teams have struggled.
