Who's draft do you like so far (1 Viewer)

I know we are only 3 rounds in but that should still give us a great place to start in evaluating how teams have done so far. Looking at the results, 2 teams really stand out to me as having superb picks thus far:

SF:

1.11 Anthony Davis, OT

1.17 Mike Iupati, OG

2.17 Taylor Mays, S

3.27 Navorro Bowman, OLB

SF really took some serious steps to solidifying theie OLine and couldn't have picked a better class to do so in. Both Davis and Iupati should step in and be starters from day one and both where arguably the best prospects at their position in the draft. Mays was a vastly overrated prospect heading into the draft but grabbing a guy with his physical ability in round 2 is good value IMO. Bowman is another guy who should easily start for SF and paring him with Willis will give SF a super athletic LB core. I'm loving the SF draft thus far.

Balt:

2.11 Sergio Kindle, DE

2.25 Terrence Cody, DT

3.6 Ed Dickson, TE

How can this not be seen as a huge win for Balt? Not having a 1st round pick and yet they land a guy in Kindle who clearly has 1st round talent and is possibly the best pass rusher in this class at 2.11. Then they follow that up and land Cody at 2.25, a guy who was boarder-line 1st round material. Dickson may be the 2nd best pass catching TE in this draft and will be a great upgrade at TE.

Gotta feel better about Flacco's numbers for next year with the additions of Boldin and Dickson.

I'm with you on San Fran and Baltimore having great drafts so far..

I love what Baltimore has done, but until they figure out how to score more points than Indy they will remain 2nd fiddle. Manning will figure out how to beat whatever defense they draft. Signing Boldin was huge however.

Kindle has knee issues and cannot play very well in space. Cody will be a boom or bust player. Will he eat himself out of the league now that he can afford all the food he desires? I wouldn't anoint Balt with having one of the top drafts just yet. Ozzie does have a great track record though.

I think Balt just continues to follow a BPA approach to the draft no matter what. Getting Boldin really allowed them to not worry about filling any "needs" IMO.

For all the laughs the Raiders get, they're doing pretty good. Adding Bruce Campbell now in the 4th.

Yes, this is pretty nice. I know many think McClain was picked too early but IMO he was one of the top 5 players in this draft and probably one of the safest picks (least likely to bust) as well. Getting Campbell in the 4th seems like robbery. It's nice to see Oak addressing the Oline. They've now got 2 Tackle prospects that are super athletic.

Seattle is a pretty easy choice, given that they got Okung and Earl Thomas. Both guys will start immediately.

And as amazing as it is to say this, the Raiders have had a terrific draft. McClain is the best LB in the draft. Lamarr Houston is great value in the 2nd round, and getting an upside guy like Bruce Campbell in the 4th makes for a great selection. Al's sanity has returned.

Just about everyone but Denver. Not real crazy about Atlanta.

Hi Jurb,San Fran-It's not bad but they traded up for no reason and got the same guy they would likely have gotten at 13. Maqys and Bowman have talent but there are character issues at play. It's a good draft so far for them but I don't think they killed the draft. I do like what they did with their OL an awful lot. Gore owners must be happy. Balt-Kindle was a guy that fell for a reason. 1st round talent perhaps but he has some issues that come with him as well. Cody was a nice pick but he has weight issues. I really like what Oakland, Seattle, and the NY Jets have done.

Buf and Jack are a mess too IMO.
Disagree. Buffalo is a terrible team all around and are switching defensive styles. I think Troup and Carrington are great picks for their 3-4 front. I think the Spiller pick was fine to for an offense that has few playmakers and may or may not keep Lynch. As far as Jacksonville goes, just because Alualu went higher than he probably should have doesn't mean he's not a great player, which I think he is. Don't know anything about the Smith kid.

Detroit. And it's not even close. It's the 3rd year in a row they've got their bat on the ball.
Unless Best is a Pro Bowl 3 down back I have the Lions at a C at best. I like what Baltimore and the Jets have done through the draft and the off season A++++

I think the Colts had a fantastic draft.

Jerry Hughes

Pat Angerer

Kevin Thomas will help that defense a ton

I know nothing about Jaques McClendon, but it seems the Colts do well drafting OL

They picked up a blocking TE as well.

They stole Jerry Hughes.

Bucs have had a perfect draft so far.
:goodposting: I literally cannot believe how well this has gone.
:goodposting: :goodposting: And this was before the Mike Williams pick. We got a 1st round talent in the 4th round because of 'off the field' issues. Dude made mistakes at school. He's not a criminal. Well worth the 'risk'.I don't know anything about the punter that they got in the 6th round. If he wins the starting job then that's another solid pick.

As upset as I was when Buffalo passed on a ton of people I wanted and reached for some people I am still happy with their draft. I think Nixs knows his talent and we will be surprised with the players we got. Hit alot of needs esp with our new defense.

RB Spiller - Great pick, I dont care who we have, this kid is a play maker. Vikings didnt pass on Peterson because they had a solid RB in Taylor. Not that hes Peterson but he is a game changer.

DT Troup - Little bit of a reach but is an anchor an NT, a spot we needed and Im trusting that Nixs saw something in him to put him ahead of Cody. Wish we couldve traded down maybe.

DE Carrington - Love this pick, hes gonna be a great fit in this new defense.

WR Easly - Great upside, NEEDED a WR bad and this kid has great upside.

OT Wang - Hit another need and I think he has good upside. Start to a young O-line. And his name is WANG, come on lol

OLB Moats - Might be a steal, seems a good fit and might be able to come in and challenge for the starting spot. Kinda James Harrison type being 6' and stocky, but still pretty quick. Good pash rusher.

I think if we didnt pass on so many ' big names ' I dont think anyone could complain. I just feel people are overhyping us passing on missing value picks. There is a reason they are sliding...

I really like our draft. A lot of the people criticizing us are focusing on our problems at QB and OL and ignoring the fact that our defense also sucks and is getting rebuilt from a 4-3 to a 3-4. Any of these players could easily be busts, obviously, but on paper we significantly improved our run defense this weekend, and that was at least as much a "need" for this team as anything on offense. I love the fact that Easly, Wang, and Moats are all major "upside" picks. And of course Spiller gives us somebody to build our offense around. And I'm also pleased that Tim Tebow is in somebody else's uniform.I'm probably biased by the fact that I didn't really like any of the QBs in this year's class, and I don't mind going with Edwards this year as a stop-gap. If Clausen, for example, develops into a Pro Bowler, then obviously we'll be kicking ourselves for not drafting him, but hey at least we'll have lots of company.

Bucs have had a perfect draft so far.
Disagree. They should've mixed in a RB. Maybe they get Dwyer before it's over?
They had much more pressing issues on defense and at WR.
Right.....but a Punter?!?!
They don't have a punter. The guy they were using at the end last year was their third punter, and he wasn't very good. Virginia Tech always produces good special-teams. Worth the pick there.

ZOLTAN was a wolverine :wall: Just don't allow him the ability to call a fake punt run inside his own 20 with 30 to go.

Think you are a little confused boss. Bucs took Bowden from VT. The great Zoltan is a Pat. I really liked the Titans draft through day 2.

I really liked the Patriots Draft so far*. They now have a lot of young and tallented defensive players in the LB core and the secondary to pair up with some very good DT's. They also have a catching and a blocking TE, something they have missed the past few years. It shouldn't be ignored that the Zoltan will really help the punting game as the punter has been a hole for this team for quite some time. I don't think they have filled enough holes to be considered a favorite for the sb next year, but the Pats are headed in the right direciton again. Give welker a year to get healthy and the young D to gel, combined with an Oakland #1 and Carolina #2 (both should be goo picks next year) and I think the Pats will be back in the SB hunt in 2012.

* but it's the draft, you never know how anyone really did for 3 years.

Kindle....steal of a pick(if healthy) fits schemeCody...steal of a pick(controls weight) fits schemeDickson/Pitta are the new best friends of Flacco b/c Heap is old and falling apart....both were good picks.David Reed was a good value and as we know the Ravens need WR'sArthur Jones....great value and will play the 5 tech...more of a one gapper tho.

Who would have believed before 3 days ago that Oakland, Detroit, Seattle, and Tampa Bay would get some of the highest draft grades.

Jacoby Ford to Oakland isn't a surprise. Jacoby Ford to Oakland not going in the 1st round is.

Those are a couple of big if's for the 1st two picks, especially with Cody. I agree it's a great draft if those 2 things happen however there are plenty of other teams that don't have big ifs with their top 2 picks. That's why I can't list their draft as one of the best drafts right now. 2 or 3 years from now, when it really matters, if very well could be.
