Who's going to be the 1st big camp causality (1 Viewer)

Michael Crabtree, Randy Moss, Mario Manningham, Jenkins(rookie)...maybe all these guys make it but I have to think the Niners are looking for possible trade partners with Crabtree, just don't see them wanting to give him the 2nd contract but maybe the locals have a different opinion or view.

Not sure I'm following you here. If the 9ers were looking to trade Crabtree, wouldn't Moss, Manningham and Jenkins all be in line for larger roles? How does that make them "camp causaliies?"

Are we talking about injuries? Not sure I like that, but if we are talking about players who will not be on the team come Sept, that's a pretty interesting debate. I hope folks are not rooting for injuries.

Good question...I could see Moss cut except the reports have been glowing, MM is only a 1 year deal, Jenkins not going anywhere, just not sure if they will continue on with Crabtree...I could see a team making a move for him.

I'd have to assume that if the 49ers are willing to move Crabtree, who is by all accounts a probable starter for them and perhaps WR1, then that means they are pretty happy with all or at least some of the above mentioned WRs. Why move you're WR1 unless you feel you can easily replace him? I'd guess that if they did, somebody of those 3 would be in line for a huge increase. I'd put my money on Moss right now given the reports. I'd least expect Jenkins because I think he's too raw and needs development.

'the Gronk', as he's being called.

Matty Stafford

J. BEST

McFadden

A. Bradshaw

Sam Bradford

Training camp will be DMC he will be trying to prove he is healthy and push it too hard.

Preseason games will be MJD with a hamstring from missing all of training camp

Regular season week 1 Hakeem Nicks will try to rush it back and rebreak his foot in the first half of the first week

"Whoes going to be the 1st big camp causality"

I normally do not get on people for spelling - but what the heck man?

Even though he hasn't lived up to the 49ers expectations, mine as well, as a guy they thought would be a top WR1 he isn't going anywhere. Just now the 9ers have more weapons so I don't really see his production taking an upswing. He'll be lucky to repeat 2011 numbers but will still be a starter.

I'd have to say Adrian Peterson. Worried about his health.

In the end, he will be J.J. Stokes 2.0...never reach expectations, and not bad enough to cut. Ironically, they both suffer from the same disease..."Separationitis".

I am going to list 3 players who I have a gut feeling will get hurt in the preseason

Fred Jackson

Issac Redman

Gronkowski

No reason for any of these guys, just a feeling

and it begins

Giants RCB Terrell Thomas (knee) is believed to "at the very least" have a partial tear of his right ACL.

The full extent of the injury will be known after Thomas undergoes exploratory surgery, but it's a good bet the Giants are bracing for Thomas' second torn right ACL in as many years. Prince Amukamara better be ready to run with the first team

Greg Childs - WR - Vikings Two sources tell ESPN 1500 Twin Cities that Vikings rookie WR Greg Childs is "almost surely" done for the year after suffering a "significant" injury to both knees during Saturday's camp practice.

The Vikings fear Childs tore both patellar tendons. It's a devastating, career-threatening blow for a player who labored through a patellar tendon tear as a senior in college and fell at least two rounds in the draft because of it. The Vikings were hoping Childs would secure the first-team split end job in suspended starter Jerome Simpson's three-game absence, but they'll have to turn elsewhere now. They may explore the free agent or trade market at receiver. The organization has soured on Michael Jenkins, and remains desperate for a wideout capable of stretching the field.

What a shame for Childs. He had ability to be a first rounder at one point. Now he may never play in the NFL.

Biggest casualty may be the Jets season. Huge fight yesterday involving 20 players that almost spilled into the fan area, and another fight today already. For all Rex's lip flapping, looks like the inmates run the asylum there.

Ryan Mathews

Book it.
good callRyan Mathews will be sidelined 4-6 weeks with a broken clavicle sustained early in Thursday's preseason opener.

Despite a litany of minor injuries over two seasons, coach Norv Turner had expressed the utmost confidence in Mathews' ability to take a pounding as a workhorse back. Durability concerns reared their ugly head after just one carry in the first exhibition game. Mathews will undergo surgery Friday. In a best-case scenario, he could return just in time for the season opener. Regardless, his early-season workload will have to be scaled back. Turner insists his "hopes" for Mathews have not changed and still expects "a great year." As do we, with the obvious durability caveat. The savvy owner will pounce once Mathews' ADP plummets over the next few days. Ronnie Brown is next up on the depth chart.

So we got Mathews / Bishop / Vick / Maclin / Torrey Smith / Dickerson and it was only the 1st night of pre-season; did I miss any?
