Who's going to catch Hasselbeck's TDs this year? (1 Viewer)

Hasselbeck has been projected to throw in the neighborhood of 20-25 TDs this year. How do you see the distribution going? Branch has never had more than 5. Engram's high is 6. Hackett is out indefinitely. Burelson has had 9, but hasn't done anything since. Is it possible that he throws around 10 TDs to HBs/FBs/TEs and spreads out the rest rather evenly throughout the WRs thus making them all pretty useless from week to week? I think it might be, but I don't know how likely. Besides Brady, I can't think of another QB that could throw that many TDs without making at least one WR pretty valuable.

IMO

Branch - Still the best bet, but not by much and not sure that the difference in price is worth it.

Burleson - Possibly most upside TD wise, but certainly carries huge bust potential. At his price though, it won't hurt if he does bust.

Engram - Solid, but extremely limited upside due to his role and his statistical history.

Who's going to catch these TD passes? Or maybe Hasselbeck doesn't throw that many TDs this year? What say you?

I think his TD total will be at the low end of expectations. I just dont see 25 TDs. But he doesnt really have great TD targets and Alexander is healthy again, so SA will probably return to his usual high TD totals. All of those receivers are smallish with a history of getting dinged up. I dont like Hasselbeck's upside much at this point.

As a Hasselbeck owner I'm pulling for him to chunk passes into D lineman's helmets so he can catch the deflection and take it to the house. In my league that would net a TD for the throw and a receiving TD plus full receiving yardage and half passing yardage. I figure with 25 attempts per game he should be able to complete 10 or 12 to himself and score on 3. That's 6 TD's per game while crippling the teams in my league that have the Seahawks WR's. I smell a championship. :money:

Solid strategy. Way to think outside the box.
