Kyle Vander Bosch TEN DL: KVB is 28 and on a team that is rebuilding around it's young D.

or

James Hall DET DL: Hall is 29 and on team with a D minded coach from TB of all places. Thinking D might acutally help Hall out even more. Marinelli has been the Tampa Bay Bucs defensive line coach and assistant head coach.

Both players are on a an upswing!

Let me know what you think.

I'm not a huge fan of either player, but I'd go with Hall.

KVB was playing for a contract last year. He played amazing and I'm sure he'll get paid. I am, however, not 100% sure he'll play at the same level once he gets his $$$.

KVB's early career was marred by injury. Last year might have been his 1st injury free. That had more to do with his production than playing for a high-dollar contract.

When KVB was playing for Nebraska he was known as a high-character, high-motor type. Unless he's changed, I don't see him giving less than 100% regardless of money. I'd be more concerned about his injury history.

Hall's numbers were off this year because he was banged up at the beginning of the year. he really came on at the end of the season, with 3 sacks in his last 4 games, and a 6 tackle per game average over that same stretch.

VandenBosch had four huge games this year, but tapered off as the season went on. He also had 3/4 of the sacks that he's had in his entire career this season.

i would take hall.

Take Hall.

Ten coach Fisher has historically rotated his DEs. This past year KVB was on the field for 90% of the snaps, the largest percentage ever under Fisher. With further development of Odom and LaBoy, expect that rotation to be more of a factor next year and reduce KVB opportunities.

That said, you can always argue that he'll be fresher and more productive. Typically though, fewer snaps do not turn into increased production.

I'm a VandenBosch owner but I'd probably say Hall. Hall's been more consistent. VDB has one solid season on his resume. Injuries have definitely hurt his production but I'm still nervous that I've gotten the best I'm going to get from VDB. I don't know that I'd say that about Hall.
