who's got some anti-cool aid for me? (1 Viewer)

Bah Kool-Aid :bag:

Give me 1QB, 1RB, 1WR, and 1TE that you think FBG has missed the mark on this year on their projections.

This is not a slight against David and the boys, but nobody is perfect - it seems every year in my first draft I see players that are taken before they were on my "FBG" radar and I sort of kick myself for not even thinking of taking them in that spot. List 4:

QB:

RB:

WR:

TE:

Here are my 4, not too many stretches - and this is using my league's scoring so YMMV...

QB: CPep (should be top 10) [-4]

RB: Portis (should be top 12) [-6]

WR: Burleson (should be top 36) [-10]

TE: Watson (should be top 5) [-3]

I'm not sure what projections you are looking at, but in the most recent batch of Dodds' projections:

C-Pep is Top 5

Portis is 2 points away from being Top 12

Watson is Top 5

The onl one on your list that does not fit the profile is Burleson, and Dodds sees he and Engram as WR2.5.

I am going off the Q version (altho it looks like we are due for a new version after looking at the HTML projections) :kicksrock:

QB: Byron Leftwich- the forgotten man. Great talent, good young WRs, undervalued this year.

RB: Corey Dillon- Yeh, Maroney looks great, but Dillon is still the guy and hasnt looked too shabby his own self. Outperformed by Dom Rhodes in RBBC? I think not.

WR: Troy Brown- going undrafted in a lot of leagues, could end up being Bradys #1 target to start the season

TE: Randy McMichael- goes along with the Culp argument. Even more interesting because even though Culp has moved up the projections board, McMike and Chambers have been static or actually dropped a bit. Crazy.

Totally agree with the Leftwich assessment. I had him pegged in my 12 man/12 round draft to take late and cheap as my #1. However, I got Culpepper at #61 and felt that he was also undervalued at the time (Saturday). He has consistently been ranked lower, though now I see FBG have him as the #5 QB, which is where I had him. Took him there because I think he's one of the few top QBs who might substantially exceed the projections.

Anyway, I think Leftwich is substantially undervalued and had him ranked as my #11 QB. He went UNDRAFTED. (I only went with one QB because I rolled the dice and only took one so I could snag both Morency and Lundi in the last 3 rounds until their roles clarify).

RB - Thomas Jones and Corey Dillon - Both Undervalued IMHOWR - Terry Glenn - He could be the sleeper than wins many leagues this year.

QB - Michael Vick :bag: :bag: :bag: :bag: (I know - I have statd my MV hate many times but he might end up being the 3rd best QB this year)

Is the Terry Glenn love fest given that she had her best year with Bledsoe, or is this based on some other news - I am :bag: for not keeping up on my research this year...

QB: Cpep-drafted in 8th round of my league last night

RB: Thomas Jones-what more does he have to do to get some respect?

WR:Eric Moulds-Big things in store for him this year

TE: Vernon Davis-Going very late-potential is huge

The more I see of her the better she looks; watch some of the preseason games his has been the goto guy for Bledsoe. The problems with TO have only increased her value.

These are based on what will probably happen in my local league as well as my gut feeling. My gut also tells me to have that extra slice of pizza, so weigh (no pun intended) them appropriately... ;)

QB: Chris Simms. I like him as an under the radar pick the way 2nd/3rd year WR are written off as busts if they don't have Moss-like production. Everybody's familiar with his name, saw him flame out, and have written him off. Bad mistake -- this kid won't set the world on fire but I project him as a fantasy equivalent of Big Ben -- "just don't lose the game for me".

RB: MBIII. My league has quite a few guppies and only a couple true sharks. While everyone is drooling over JJones, I'll sweep in while they're taking defenses and kickers in rounds 7-9 to grab Barber. (My league seems to ignore anyone who is RB2 on a team even if there's a possibility of them seeing action.)

WR: Rod Smith. Everyone knows the name and that he's over 30, but few will put Walker together with the fact that RSmith may  see less double coverage.

TE: Jermaine Wiggins. Now that KRob is gone from Minnyhaha, he has the possibility (though I'm not going to guarantee it) to post some sick numbers, especially in the red zone.

My :2cents:

TE: WATSON-most are in agreement here. No Givens, and who knows whats up with Branch.

RB: Fast Willie Parker- No.1 RB for the defending champs and is the definitive goal-line back.

WR: Driver is always undervalued.

QB: Mike Vick- No TJ Duckett means more goalline keeper TDs for Sick Vick.

WR: Burleson (should be top 36) [-10]

Camp Cheney: In review

By CLARE FARNSWORTH

P-I REPORTER

BEST PLAYER: Bobby Engram. From the first practice July 29 to the final practice Thursday morning, no was more consistent or productive than the team's leading receiver on their run to the Super Bowl last season.

He finds ways to get open, ridiculously so at times. He catches everything thrown his way. He makes the run after the catch. He leads by example.

But don't just take our word for it. Listen to what the quarterbacks who have been throwing Engram all those passes talk about on one of their rare nights off at training camp.

"Bobby's great," Matt Hasselbeck said last week. "The quarterbacks were talking at dinner last night and it was 20 minutes of, ‘How awesome is Bobby Engram.' Talking about all the great things about him.

"He's always out there practicing," Hasselbeck added. "You see so many guys standing around on the sideline. And Bobby's the older guy. He's supposed to be the one whose to body is breaking down, but he seems like he's getting better as camp goes on."

In this camp, no one was better than Engram.
As a homer I should also note that I really really really want Burleson to play well for this team, but up until now Engram has been the best WR on the Seattle roster.
