Who's Nervous About Fitzgerald Week 1? (1 Viewer)

I know that you never bench your studs, but is anyone else nervous about him week 1? Do we know how effective he will be after his knee injury? We've yet to see him play with Anderson? If you were going to bench him, who would it be for?

You picked him for a reason. Anderson being under center is better for him. Anderson will lock on to him and chuck the ball downfield since that's all he can do. Roll with Fitz week 1. You know he's going to be ready. He's an intense competitor.

I worry about the Cardinals Offense in general. Outside of the kicker I avoided all these guys this year. Not sure Breaston or the other guy is going to ever pull the extra coverage away from Fitz and don't think the running game will either. I think it all comes down to QB play and both the guys that have started this preseason look like crap.

I know that Fitz is a stud with anyone throwing to him, but I couldn't afford to pay his asking price of where he was drafted.

I agree with that but what if you paid the premium to get Fitz would you consider sitting him week 1?

I didn't draft him this year. I have him in my dynasty league. I also have MSW, Crabtree, and Floyd which I could put in temporarily until we see how the offense performs...

That pretty much settles that comment.

Depending on my other options, I would probably go with him even though the other team has been game planning for Fitz and Fitz along. But it's also the Rams, so start Fitz...

I guess the real question is what would you feel worse about. Benching your uber-stud WR and have him put up a 8/105/2 type of game while the guy you do starts puts up 5/60/0? Or starting him and he goes 5/60/0 and the guy who you were less nervous about puts up 8/90/1??

With the monster downgrade at QB, I am totally nervous about Fitz going forward.
8 rec, 80 yards chance at a TD.
Fair estimate.I'd take this from my WR2, but not my WR1...but odds are, unless the guy's got 3 more guys who are typical WR1's, he's still starting Fitz, as he should.
128 receptions, 1280 yards and 16 td's over a season... what the hell are people expecting from thier WR1!

Walker and Crabtree have mediocre QBs and they have both been dinged during training camp too.Floyd has a top notch QB (with a suspect o-line) but is a completely unknown commodity.Fitz is physically and mentally superior (from a preparation standpoint) to all your other options. This shouldn't even be a question.

Maybe if he played St. Louis every week...Seriously though. His projections if this was LAST year with Warner would've been way higher than that, and you'd have been disappointed if he put up those numbers vs. STL.

Fitz last year vs STL, with Warner8/87/15/48/1

And that would disappoint me from my WR1 drafted often in the 1st round last year, playing the worst team in the league.

Then you really shouldn't start him. It isn't safe.

I would start him. You probably drafted him as one of your starters so its not likely you have a better option. I wouldn't get into matchups in week 1 re: Fitz vs. a situational matchup with a lesser player.

Dynasty owners likely don't have 2 or 3 better WR options, so they probably go with their stud too.

I don't know what the disappointment would be if he hovered around 8/80/1. In my pprs thats a really good day. On the average season, a wildy successful year would be 100/1500/14TDs. All those average out to be right where that kind of day would be.

More than anything though, its the Rams. You have to figure thats going to be a game with opportunities.

87 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 would disappoint you, huh? I think I would take that all day.

its a tough call, im in a high keeper with insane wr's on my team and still, against the ramsm its just so hard not to start fitz!

The combo of the knee and QB issues have me worried. But the matchup is nice.

And as for the QB issue, that would worry me more if I had Breaston and needed anything out of him (season long). ARI receivers not named Fitzgerald really scare me this year.

Then you shouldn't draft a receiver in the first round because you take that from any WR any week.
