I've never ever seen him do that. Even when he's not walking people he's filling up the count constantly.Falling back in love with Max. I take back everything I said.
Last two outings he's been a completely different pitcher than what we saw in Seattle. He pounds the zone, and seems to have confidence in everything he's doing.

I agree Scherzer was clearly gassed. I was "watching" the game on my PC and we get 5pts for a QS and 12 pts for a W so I was on the edge of my seat for that last out. I was shocked when he was left in to pitch Cabrera. But you gotta admit your timing was uncanny.Want to blame someone, pick one of Leyland of Scherzer himself. What's Leyland doing leaving the guy in there for Cabrera in the first place. The guy almost decapitated him in the previous innings. When are these pea-brain managers going to get a clue? Max threw about 28-30 pitches and labored through the 6th. Just missed, terribly, on 4 straight pitches to Sizemore with 2 outs in the 7th. He was done. He even visited the damn mound and had an arm ready. Leaving him out there is about as stupid as thinking someone's posting on a message board impacts what happens on a baseball field 100s of miles away.

Yes Zimmermann will likely be limited on his innings pitched, but unless that is a category I think Zimmermann will have better stats than Jackson for the next few months....you can find a pitcher to use if/when they shut him down. I think Zimmerman will be better in at least two if not three of the four categories for May/June/July.Jackson has already started imploding this year and you can never guess when to play him even if you can reseve himFor 2011, I say that's very unlikely to be a winning move. I can't remember a guy getting more hype in re-drafts coming off major arm surgery without a big-time track record of success. The Nationals are going to be super conservative with this guy, limiting both how late they let him work into games and the cumulative amount of innings thrown. Jackson is far more likely to win more games with a better team, and strike out more people with more innings pitched. Both of them are most likely going to sport an ERA over 4 and a WHIP over 1.30, so I'm not sure how you can give a nod to Zimmermann this season when, at best, he's looking at a 2/2 split in the 4 categories they impact. You should be happy if you could replace Edwin Jackson with JZimm

From Sickels' site:I saw Hicks play in High School in LALAland and he was a "WoW" guy at that point. While his development is slow the guy has all the tools and I like the Twins organization and their handling of young players, so I expect him to continue to mature and develop - may be several years before he gets a chance with the big club but he should be an all around performer...the power is developing and he is very athletic with great speed.Hicks is still young (21 1/2) so there's room to develop. But he's still in A+ ball after repeating a season in the Midwest League. His second year of low A was pretty unexceptional except for his walk rate. I've never seen him play but based on his slow progression, his poor contact stats (21% SO in A ball), lack of power and mediocre SB percentages, he just seems like a prototypical toolsy guy who never puts it together.Beckham I agree with but What is not to like about Hicks?I'm not high on Aaron Hicks and Tim Beckham
**Another slumping tools player is Minnesota Twins prospect Aaron Hicks, hitting .167 in his last 10 games, although he's at least drawn nine walks in that stretch. He's hitting .206/.322/.309 in 26 games for High-A Fort Myers. Hicks is playing great defensively and draws walks, but he simply hasn't shown the power that the Twins have felt was in his bat, and with two-plus seasons of A-ball under his belt, he needs to start showing more offense. If he'd attended college instead of signing in '08, he would NOT be a first-round candidate in the deep 2011 draft. It's too soon to conclude he won't improve and the tools are still here, but there is a lot of work to do
