I think McCoy is going to be catching a lot of dump off because off al the pressure that Eagles line and Vick will be facing.

Adrian Peterson, with Ray Rice just a hair behind him.

There will also be, as always with the Eagles, weeks where the running game will be ignored, and McCoy's touches will be somewhat limited.

Good point fellas, I am an Eagles :homer: and I am very scared of that line so I think Vick, unless he runs it, is doing a ton of checking down to McCoy but I agree that they'll have Brown in there taking those as well.

One of the local guys, who used to play for the Vikings, said that while he was really concerned about the o-line early in the offseason he is now rather optimistic.

Add to that the fact that there really isn't a #2 on the roster.

The answer to the question, therefore, is Adrian Peterson.

If not him, Mendenhall.

Don't get me wrong, I am very high on McCoy this year, but not to be the number 1 pick, even in PPR.

Rice

schedule is cake....this team will score often....good defense that will keep the offense on the field.....worried about teams taking Peterson out of the game....Rice still gets looks in the red zone both in the passing game and on the ground...

I think Vick is slowly creeping up there for me. People are concerned about the injures, but I think that theres just as good a chance that a Foster, Charles, or McCoy goes down. Just grab a reliable backup like Eli and ride Vick's huge games. That being said I'm still taking Peterson, Rice, Charles, Foster, and maybe McCoy over him.

ADP, no doubt. The man is the definition of a solid FF anchor and will carry your team regardless of the situation.

And this year he's going to see more passes thrown his way and has no one nipping at his heels.

Second is Rice and I also have no problem with anyone taking McCoy at 3rd.

i'm just rolling the dice on McCoy because I think it's never who anyone thinks. CJ3, MJD, I think McCoy is talented enough and due. Yet easily see how it could be AP or RayRice. THere's a 45% chance we're all wrong and surprised by Player X

Regardless of whether it's PPR or not, Rice is the only guy I'd be comfortable taking with the #1 overall pick. Almost every major variable is in his favor: schedule, strength of o-line, position competition, and he's completely healthy to start the season.

I do like Peterson; he's clearly the #2 overall in my book. (again, regardless of PPR or not) He should benefit from having Captain Checkdown manning the helm of his offense, however McNabb may also be unable to stretch the field, affecting Peterson's numbers. There are also some issues with the o-line in Minnesota.

After those two; however, it's a crapshoot. In PPR, McCoy definitely seems like a solid option. I'd even consider taking Fitzgerald simply due to talent and opportunity.

I've picked Ray Rice 5th overall in a PPR league. I think that's a total steal. Ray Rice is what AP is to non-PPR leagues. Rice is the safe pick. Although I've heard reports that they are looking to integrate AP into the passing game more.

Michael Vick.

He will be the #1 player in all formats when it is all said and done.

Risky? Yes. But all RB's carry risk....here your geting a QB and a RB in one player who has elite skills. A rare commodity in FF.

I wonder whether the paucity of Foster votes is due to people not thinking he can duplicate (or come close to duplicating) last year's production, or the hamstring issue. He essentially lapped the field in points last year.

Health is why I didn't pick him. Too much of a risk for a #1 pick.

Peterson. He may not finish first among RBs, but I'm pretty certain he's finishing in the top-4. I like that kind of certainty in the first round.

You think it's McCoy, therefore I will not take him! ;)

Again, assume standard FBG scoring, 1 PPR
Pardon me if this sounds stupid, but what is exactly 'standard footballguy scoring'? I am a member and have looked for it recently but can't find it!and btw the 1st pick in the draft has to be peterson. He is playing for a new contrace, has been dominant for years and has a qb that will open up the lanes for him. ADP without a doubt

Depends on the contest. If it's just a league, then I shoot for the moon and take Foster. If it's a multi-league contest with extended playoffs (like FBG Players Championship), then I play it 'safe' and take Peterson (followed up by other 'safe' picks from proven performers like Reggie Wayne, Steven Jackson, a stud QB, etc - then only take on high upside risks when a solid core is built).

Apparently it's Foster because I just did a draft tonight and I had the #1 pick and that is who I took.

He won't repeat last year but he was about 80-100 pts ahead of the 2nd place back so even if he only produces at 80% he will be at the top.

That makes no sense. If you want to win $125,000 you need to shoot for the moon and not play it safe.So I have been in/seen about 25 drafts this year and Foster went #1 in about 23 of them so someting must be up because everyone comes on here and almost no one says they will take Foster but yet he continues to be the only guy taken at #1. Interesting.
