I have a couple expendable bench spots and am thinking it might be a good time to make some longer-term stashes. This decision comes down to a balance between the player's ROS value and the opportunity cost of holding them on your bench for however long it takes them to come back.
Here's my current thinking: The two big-name QBs (Rodgers and Luck) aren't really worth it, and not just because I have Wentz. With Rodgers, I don't see him coming back until the fantasy playoffs, and even then, they may ease him back. With Luck, there's far too much uncertainty, and a very real possibility they hold him out for the year.
If David Johnson is available, run don't walk and pick him up. But I doubt he was dropped in too many leagues (Yahoo says he's 78% owned).
Of the remaining options, my No. 2 stash candidate is Danny Woodhead (17% owned in Yahoo). He's not due back until Week 11, so you'd have to hold him for two weeks before you could use him. He's an obvious injury risk in a crowded backfield on a mediocre offense, but Woodhead has been such a consistent producer when healthy that I still think he's worth the investment.
No 1 is Charles Clay (14% owned). There's some uncertainty about when he'll be back, but it looks like it will be in the next week or two. He's been Buffalo's only reliable receiving option all season. And he's already past his bye.
Thoughts? Disagreements? Anyone else I'm missing?
