why are there so few (1 Viewer)

i heard an interview with selig when asked about it. he mentioned that the length of the games has increased significantly, making double headers less desirable, esp for families bringing kids (i.e. too long a day). i don't know that this is any kind of official reason vs him speculationg, though.

Every double header is one less home date. That adds up for the owners.
Exactly. It's all about  .
This is the only answer to the question.
And when there is a DH from a rainout, it is always a day-night DH so they can get the ticket receipts for two games...
Posty is correct. I was thinking the only way they will ever shorten the season is to have more day/nights scheduled. Saturday would seem to be the best day for this. Then maybe they could play less cold weather games at the beginning & end of the season. Just think, every home stand there would be 2 Saturday games to choose from in case you wanted to go to a game.
