Well, the record still stands: No hurricane has ever made landfall on the big island. It was downgraded to a Tropical Storm just hours before landfall.
The other tropical system will most likely fall to a TS as well, but no matter what, is headed north of the islands.
Looks like the record will fall this weekend. With low shear and warm water ahead of her, Ana looks like it'll be the first hurricane to ever strike the big island.
