Why is Baltimore D rated so low? (1 Viewer)

FBG has Baltimore D ranked in the bottom half for this week.

I know they got torched last week, but that was Indy. This is Miami.

Anyone else thinking they could put up decent points this week?

I am banking on it.

When Baltimore actually shows up, they are a great D. Hopefully they have enough motivation to get up for a winless team.

I can't fault any D for looking bad against Indy.

I picked them up just for this game. Miami has mailed it in for the past two weeks, so even if Baltimore is blase, they'll still be much better than the phins... At least thats what I'm hoping.

Nope. They are demoralized and in the process of quitting on the coach. If it was Beck, yeah, but Cleopatra has actually shown the ability to move the offense. 3 sacks, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble. 10-20 points on the board.

well last week they were without BOTH starting CBs and the back ups were getting torched! I haven't seen anything as far as their health for this week and thats probably why they are ranked low. There were a lot of injuries in the colts game too.

I like BAL Def this week, still having a hard time between BAL, IND and CIN Def they are all good plays. So far it IND

I'd play Baltimore with confidence. I think teams are going to be approaching the Dolphins like the Bizarro Patriots -- just like everyone brings their A game to the Pats to try to knock of the undefeated, I think teams will bring their A game to avoid the ignominy of being the team that loses to the Fish.

Battered and demoralized ... buyer beware.

Could be a shot in the arm to play Miami ... could be a status quo day too.

Dropped 'em weeks ago. If you get rewarded for big plays without regard to points allowed, Baltimore very well could be a good play this week. But if they have to stop somebody, even the Dolphins, they haven't really shown themselves to be all that good this year.

A lot depends on the scoring system. In our league you get -1 for a FG allowed, -2 for an offensive TD allowed, +6 for a defensive TD scored (not a punt or kick return) and +2 for a safety. Sacks and INTs don't enter into it at all, making them the 30th ranked fantasy defense in our league. Here's the breakdown. -6 at Bengals-4 vs Jets -7 vs Cardinals -8 at Browns -2 at 49ers -1 vs Rams -6 at Bills -11 at Steelers -7 vs Bengals -2 vs Browns -10 at Chargers -8 vs Patriots -12 vs Colts Total: -84 (avearage about -6.5)The only two teams that are worse are the Dolphins (-86) and Browns (-92)The top five in the league, by comparison:Minnesota -17, New England -31, Indy -38, GB -44, Pitt -44:XGood luck, hopefully your league scoring is more conducive to the Ravens being worth having.Edit to add, looking at how defenses have done with this scoring against the Dolphins and I can see the temptation a bit more:-44 in the first 7 games-5 in the last 6 gamesStill, not really sure I'd trust the Ravens D. I feel a lot better with the FA Bucs D that I was able to get.-QG

Miami are not in the top 5 in terms of FF points allowed to defenses in most leagues, and they're not in the top 10 in some.
