Why isn't Justin Blackmon getting any Heisman love? (1 Viewer)

Blackmon in another year would get a lot more love, but people are so in love with Cameron Newton right now. It's hard to compete with a QB of an undefeated team. Blackmon will probably be in the top 5 for Heisman voters, but going up against Newton isn't easy.
The Heisman has nothing to do with whether you're "NFL ready". It has everything to do with how your college team is doing, how your stats are piling up, and how good your college publicity mill is.

Best QB coming out of this draft is Kellen Moore.

I would be shocked if he came out, and I do not see him as anything more than a Ken Dorsey type of prospect.As far as Blackmon goes, I agree he should be getting a bit more publicity. The midseason DUI definitely hurt him, though Newton and James also have some off-field baggage to contend with. Regardless, he is the Biletnikoff favorite and has moved himself into first round consideration.

Since 1935, Tim Brown and Desmond Howard are the only 2 WR's to win the Heisman (not counting Woodson). It aint easy if you're not a RB or QB.
