Why no love for C. Taylor to Minny? (1 Viewer)

I haven't been paying tons of attention to the board over the weekend but why no love for Chester Taylor going to Minny?

Is it Taylor or Minny just being Minny?

I'm not trying to be funny, but if you haven't been paying attention, how do you know there's no love for CT? There's a thread here, which shows much love. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Again, I'm not trying to be funny, but there is a thread in here somewhere.

There's been too much love if you ask me.

:goodposting: for a 'never-has-been' player like Taylor, he's getting TOO much attention,IMO..

I wouldn't take him over a guy like TJones who has proven he can carry the load as as starting RB..but Taylor?!?! what's he proven to be so far? at this point I'd still take Droughns over him...too many rb's in minny who'll eat up playing time from Taylor..

13-18 makes him a #2 RB, I think that makes him a solid pick. CT is a VERY nice move in Minny, IMHO

Here were Taylor's stats from game with at least 10 carries over the span of his career . . .

Rushes, Rushing Yards, Reeiving Yards, Total TD

10-45-25-0 vs ARI 2003

21-89-11-0 vs BUF 2004

18-78-18-0 vs PHI 2004

15-33-18-1 vs DAL 2004

16-61-24-0 vs NE 2004

23-139-25-1 vs CIN 2004

25-104-27-0 vs NYG 2004

11-32-24-0 vs NYJ 2005

19-59-26-0 vs PIT 2005

11-40-6-0 vs HOU 2005

20-59-14-0 vs DEN 2005

AVG: 17-67-20-0.18

Of interest is that the Vikings have said they think Taylor could get 25 touches a game. I doubt that will happen, but that is the story they are telling at this point.

???Chester Taylor = James Stewart???

James Stewart was a good backup in Jacksonville before going to Detroit and... I dont need to go on.

Will Taylor have the same fate in Minny?

:lmao: Thats like saying "Lamont Jordan was a good backup in New York before going to Oakland and... I dont need to go on.

Will Taylor have the same fate in Minny?"

Completely irrelevant.

What crap. Ahman Green was Alexander's backup. Priest was Jamal Lewis' backup. So what?Taylor will be solid. If MeMo gets his act together, he may steal some time on third downs. Taylor will be top 20.

:goodposting: OK, so if he hits his averages from this sample, then he'll put up about 1400 total yards if he stays healthy for 16 games.

Childress has proven to be a guy to throw to his RB's and has stated he'd like to get CT involved in the passing game, so PPR stats should be decent, too.

The big question is how many scores will he get? Probably too soon to know how/if he is used at the goal line....

Of course he is on a new team in a new system, so this information isn't as relevant but it is an indicator that he will be productive. RB2 numbers seem to be a very reasonable expectation, with potential for RB1 numbers if he stays healthy and can cross the stripe more than a handful of times.

[hijack]At this point you'd still take a back who had over 1200 yards for a rebuilding team who just added 2 solid offensive linemen in free agency, plus should have Braylon Edwards, Kellen Winslow and Joe J to help out the young QB. I'm thinking Droughns could have a pretty nice season.

IMO, Taylor is a guy I wouldn't mind having as a RB2 if the Vikes backfield stays as is. If he gets the workload they are pimping, he could be borderline Top 10. Yet many will shy away from him because he is unproven on a team that in recent years has not produced a decent fantasy RB. He should put up decent yardage numbers (maybe a notch below Lamont Jordan or Brian Westbrook), especially if they add Hutchinson. We'll have to wait and see if MIN is done adding RBs, as we still don't know what (if anything) they are doing with OSmith or what they will do in the draft.

Seems like Minny is purging themselves of "problem" children, I am not writing off O.Smith...but wonder if they are done with him, too. Also, a new HC being so agressive to land CT so soon in FA does say a lot about what they think he could do.
