Why wouldn't MIA pick up Mike Williams? (1 Viewer)

I wonder if he could be converted to a TE. He is a big boy. He could be worth a flier as a TE. If Cam can convert a hoops player into a dominant TE, maybe he can do the same with a football plaer.

Cause they signed David Martin in the offseason to be a TE?

And all the talk on message boards like this one was how Martin was such a sleeper at TE because of Cam and Trent Green's successes with Gates and Gonzo (to which I laughed at because Martin is not that good).

Yeah, get rid of Chambers in a trade... 2 weeks later sign Mike Williams.

Worst franchise ever. Seriously. Since 1997, they have catapulted to the top of horribleness, if that is even a word.

isn't he worth a flier?
The Raiders clearly regretted doing so.I think the Dolphins have realized that this is a lost season and they have some fundamental problems that need to be addressed, as evidenced by the Chambers trade. Let's be honest, whether the result of poor QB play or his own fault, Chambers is generally regarded as an underachiever. But he has a lot of physical talent and fills a big and immediate need for SD, a team with a chance to win this year. In return, a rebuilding Miami gets a (presumably late) 2nd round pick - something that can really help them address problems particularly on the offensive line. It also gives them a chance to let guys like Hagan and Ginn in there, get some experience, and see what they have. If they don't see BMW figuring into their long-term plans (and he's now had 2 strikes), what's the point of "taking a flier"? This isn't fantasy football :)
