***Wild Card Game Thread*** Green Bay at Philadelphia (1 Viewer)

Akers should give up his Pro Bowl spot. Horrible. Both kicks were easy, he just flat out over the top yanked 'em. Think those 6 points were critical? I don't understand the play call on the final play, or the read by Vick. When I saw him sort of fake and go up top I assumed a corner or safety bit and he had someone wide open. Not even close. Bad route, even worse decision by Vick to throw it.

No matter how great an athlete Vick is, nor how great a season he had (and I give him MAJOR props for coming back from what he did) the luster is a bit dull right now. Call it what you want, but it's obvious D Coordinators made serious adjustments to a) hit him a lot more, and b) slow his production. He's been taking a beating. He'll get his money - just too big a weapon on offense, but I don't think people are gonna feel great about it. He's a bigger injury waiting to happen. No matter what, the Eagles will want insurance - I doubt Kolb goes anywhere.

whoah. Cooper gave up on that pass.
Thought so to at first but it was just a bad decision, thought it was going high so he gave up the inside to go for the jump ball
yea he didnt quit on the pass, he just ran to where he thought the ball would be, it ended up being about 2 feet too low and 2 yards too short so he had no chance, i guess he could've tried to grab williams' jersey if he could reach out that far and just take the PI.
and I guess that he needs to do anything in his power to make sur ethat either he gets the ball or the other guy doesn't. He didn't. :lmao:

Congrats to the Packers, they earned that. Am I the only one that thought that Matthews wave bye bye to the eagles fans was poor sportsmanship?
Nope not at all. People put way to much at things guys do in the heat of the moment. Poor sportsmanship to me is guys taking cheap shots at other players when the game is outa hand. I mean I am sure the Packer players heard all types of things from the Philly fans all day. He was just shutting their mouth in a harmless way. Flipping the bird and stuff like that is crossing the line waving bye is just having fun with them.

Andy Reid's press conference starts with "We got to do a better job as players and coaches.........". How many times have you heard that, Eagles fans?
What's wrong with that? What else is he supposed to say? I've never understood the hatred of his pressers..
It seems like this annoys most Eagles fans because he says that after every loss.
I think that's the first line in a head coaches manual. McCarthy uses it too.

 He is a weapon but he is very injury prone at this point in his career. They better keep Kolb. D-Coordinators have found ways to limit him the Redskin game just over hyped him. Still a run first guy when things break down. He reverted back later in the year.

Another performance of the Packers looking good but not being able to put away the opponent. Only once this season against the Giants have they been able to do that. Along with the losses to mid teams like the Lions I am still scared but at least they were able to hold on which is more than recent years. Very much something to grow on.

I just watched this play again, and I think it's unfair to say he didn't do anything. He was an arms length away from Williams when he caught the ball and his momentum was definitely going away from Williams. He had no chance to break that pass up.

The pack got real conservative in the 2nd half. The running game was working, but I thought they went to it too much in the 2nd half. I think they could have pulled away a little bit.Either way it is a moot point because they did enough to win. They are a force and I really hope Atlanta beats them, because if the Bears beat seattle, I rather play Atlanta. Don't want to see the pack a 3rd time.

Congrats Packer fans. As much as I wanted to will the Packers into being the bad team I had claimed them to be all year, they are a good, dangerous team this year. Enjoy your playoffs.

Vick faking an injury.. needs an excuse..
this guy clearly in the running for penultimate SP d-bag of 2010.you think he's like 13, but his profile says 34 :tinfoilhat:
And two dolalrs, if you are going to d-bag every thread you enter, please stop admitting to being a Bear fan. Then everyone will think we're all like that. TIA.

Slip by an under-par division champ to be exposed by your division rival? I can understand that.

Hey Vick, karma is a #####.
So you are saying God is a dog lover and he's punishing him? If true I could think of far better ways to punish Vick.
 Vick made ~10mil on his contract alone this year, and he's bound to sign a huge contract this offseason. One playoff loss ain't that big of a deal at all.
Just wondering has he paid all the money back he owes, thought I read he still owes the Falcons.

I don't see the NFC beeing able to keep up with New England. I know the Packers played them tough but I still don't think they could beat them (I would put it at 15%).

Strange comment - the Packers had several big wins this year - Buffalo, Minnesota, Dallas and San Francisco games in addition to the Giants game.

Congrats Pack and cheeseheads. Nice game by you guys, but all through the third quarter then into the 4th, hell the whole 2nd half we were wondering aloud how the hell we even had a shot in this game.

Ugly game all around for most of the Birds. The one thing I was critical of, the defense, actually kept us hanging around. Although I think that was more of GB's conservative 2nd half play than the Birds D. Red zone D was brutal as usual. It seemed like GB never went for the knockout blow. Whatever, still good game by you guys.

As usual Reid doesn't run the ball enough, trying to get Vick killed. But he's the playmaker, I guess you put it in his hands most of the time.

Good luck Pack, big Rodgers fan, hope you guys represent the NFC.

On the initial punt turn over, before the Packer was dragged into the ball ( a nice play by the Eagle BTW) didn't I see the ball hit an Eagle in the foot meaning the ball was down? Maybe I was seeing things.

I know it was windy but I am shocked Akers missed those two F.G.'s, shocked.

Having won twice on the road at Philly while very injured; I believe the Packers are the better team, but not by much. Philly losing Jackson's effectiveness really cost them this game. Even when he came back in it was clear to me he did not have the burst nor the cutting he regularly does. Had he, the game could have very easily gone differently. I could tell after his catch and run to the right that he was not himself. As a Packer fan I feel this was a fortunate win. I feel the Packers survived, but that the Eagles were not defeated.

Thanks ... Classy post. Eagles will own the NFC East next year.

Congrats to the Packers. I knew this was a bad matchup for Philly as I really believe GB has a chance to run the table.

Best of luck vs. ATL next week. The addition of Starks is a big help.

I am just glad it is over (So is my wife), I felt Philly with their very explosive players on offense and at home was going to be very tough and it proved to come down to the last play. Good game Philly fans, your offense is going to be a terror for some time, so much speed.

Good luck next week Falcon fans, hope it is another good game, but I really hope we can win it a little easier so I do not have a damn stroke. :-) (Yes I do yell at the TV)

Changed my team, just for you sweetie

I didn't see any contact by the Eagles prior to the Packer contact. And (not in response to you) there is no exception for being blocked into the ball. I can't think of any situation where that would apply; perhaps you guys are just thinking of being blocked into the returner for fair catch interference. It's ok to give the Eagles credit for a good play.Good game by the Pack. I'm considering going to Atlanta. The rematch next week should be fun.

Congrats Packers and there fans, probably my second favorite team behind the Birds in the NFC. Hope you take it all the way.

I thought this too. Should have been challenged. Even if it was wrong, it reminds me of the non challenge of the Gonzalez 4th down catch in the Atlanta game.

Huh. I watched the play repeatedly (tivo) and each time Underwood's foot hit the ball first. I hoped for a different result....but.....Anyway, a win is a win! Go Pack!

The situation alone should have been enough to throw the flag. Just like the Gonzalez catch. Try to keep up.

Any injuries to the Pack? I did not notice any, other than Driver whincing on the sideline, but I thought he returned.
Driver has a bruised knee. But as you said, he did come in after it happened. He should be good to go.Have not heard of any others.Woodson came off holding his side the one time, but seemed fine after that.
