Our 45th president is due to take office in 2014 meaning our 50th president should take office sometime between 2034 and 2054.

Are we still as confident that America will exist in close to her current form to elect that 50th president?
Is Obama going to be impeached and convicted?
:bag: fixed.

I've always thought that Kansas was a bet net loss for the rest of us. If we could just get them out of here things would be fine!

Should America survive? It would make sense to have this large land mass split into separate independant states.
Agreed.
Like the Soviet Union split in the early '90's?
Not like that because those states were, for the most part, ethno-states establishing sovereign rule around a cultural identity. An American dissolution would more likely be along political beliefs.

I wonder if we need a Congress anymore. POTUS and SCOTUS can pretty much handle the important matters. Details can be taken care of by Justice department.

Absolutely and unequivocally yes.

This nation has survived MUCH worse over it's history. Anything we are experiencing present day pales in comparison to something like the Civil War.

Contrary to the thoughts of some in this great nation...the sky is not falling.

Somewhere between 24 years and 48 years (give or take a day or so )the 50th American president will be taking office.

Simple poll.... will America as a nation live (in it's current, or close to it's current form) to see that day?
The real question is will it be great.

America isn't close to what it was 30 years ago.  I think it's a question of "what will America look like in 40 years?"    It will be a lot more locked down and Orwellian I think.  Of course, I think we've already had our climax as a species.  It's basically just a declining march towards our extinction at this point.

Americans are not a species. HTH

:P

Meh, you know what I meant.  I think America and Humans as a whole have already peaked.  Both around the same time (1970s-1990ish)
I think you are way too pessimistic here. But I doubt I could convince you anyway. But at least be happy you got to live in your anthropeak. I'm still looking forward to living in mine
