Based on the last two seasons, and the emergence of a talented Chris Simms, it seems clear that the WR #1 in Tampa Bay has tremendous value. Let's take a look back:
2004
Player No Yds Avg Long TD
Michael Clayton 80 1193 14.9 75 7
Joey Galloway 33 416 12.6 36 5
2005
Player No Yds Avg Long TD
Joey Galloway 83 1287 15.5 80 10
Michael Clayton 32 372 11.6 41 0
Over the last two season, one WR has emerged and produced top ten numbers while the other dealt with, and for the most part, played through some sort of ailment throughout the season. In each case, the two still finished as WRs #1 & 2, which begs the question: If both are healthy, which of these two is more likely to seperate himself from the other, and if such a seperation occurs, could that one produce 1,200 yds and 7-10 TDs?
Secondarily, is there room in this offense for two WRs to produce 1,000+ yard seasons?
