Will Tiki ever find the endzone? (1 Viewer)

I know he's worried about banging himself up too bad, but this is ridiculous. Almost 1000 all purpose yards, and no sign of a TD. He's killing me. His longest run was 29 yards this year. Is he just coasting his way to the end now? Will he ever see the endzone again?

He might if they forget to pull him for Jacobs once they get inside the 10. I doubt it though.

-- Tiki Barber Pulled in Goal Line Situations --Tue Oct 31, 2006 --from FFMastermind.comThe New York Post reports eight weeks into the season, Giants RB Tiki Barber leads the NFL in rushing with 715 yards but has not yet found his way into the end zone. Barber came close in the 17-3 victory over the Buccaneers, as on first-and-goal from the Tampa 3-yard line he brought the ball to the 1. Then, out trotted Barber and in came RB Brandon Jacobs, who powered in for his fourth rushing touchdown of the season. "It it's outside of five yards I have the ability to say I want to be in there," Barber said. "Once we get inside the 2-yard line it's Brandon's territory."

With Tiki's impending retirement, how will the Giants use him the rest of the way?

1. Use him like there is no tomorrow. Who cares, the guy is walking away from the game.

2. Use him enough to be in a position to win games, but start getting better looks at Jacobs.

(Tiki owner and Giants Fan)My thought is they want to make the playoffs and the way they are riding Tiki provides the best chance to win. That said, if they magically win a bunch of games in a row and have everything locked up I can see Jacobs getting additional carries. That said, with their schedule I do not see that happening. If they were in last place then I could see them seeing what Jacobs can do but that is not the case.

They are going to take a look at Jacobs as much as possible and keep Tiki fresh for the playoffs. They don't want to go into the playoffs with someone as green as Jacobs, and they don't want to use Tiki up and kick him to the curb....

The way he's been running the ball, he's bound to cross the stripe eventually from beyond the 10-yard line or so. That said, the TDs will probably be limited given the distance involved.

He will score at least 1 td this weekend. Why?

Because I picked up Jacobs and plan on starting him. :D

8 weeks of fantasy life left. It's been a great carrer TIKI.

My guts say he's gonna explode any time now.

8 more chances if your a fortunate one to have him in your league super bowl.

I disagree. The Giants know what Jacobs can do. This is Tiki's last year, and he is the nucleus of that offense. They are playing to win, not to see what Jacobs can do next year.

giants homer, and i haven't missed a snap this year. well, except for the 3rd quarter of the SEA game when i blacked out from utter disbelief.

anyway, i can tell you unequivocally that tiki will finish the year with prob around 3-4 TDs. what he said in the Post is true, he gets the ball on the 5, but inside the 2 it's jacobs time. which makes sense. jacobs really is a beast in short yardage. but when he comes in the game, everyone knows he's getting the rock. tiki keeps defenses honest.

there's no way he doesn't get a small handful of 5+ yd TD runs. besides the obvious, coughlin MUST come to the obvious conclusion at some point that the most effective way to score inside the 10 is not pumping the ball into Shockey. once that revelation happens, it's more looks for Tiki near the stripe.

in light of all these things, i think tiki's actually a solid buy-low.

I play against him this week so I'm pretty sure he'll find the endzone. Maybe even twice.
