Oct 30 Coach Mike Tomlin revealed on Tuesday that he likes to give Parker first crack at scoring in the red zone before turning things over to Najeh Davenport.
Recommendation: Parker has two rushing touchdowns to Davenport's three. "We want to give him an opportunity to get in," Tomlin said of Parker. "He understands those opportunities are limited and if he doesn't get in early then we're going to come in with the big man, Najeh. We give him a crack or two at it." Tomlin's comments about the red-zone rushing attack are revealing in that he had never previously conceded a two-pronged red-zone attack.

That's the problem. The Steelers get a first and goal at the five, and the call is for FWP. He takes it down to the 1 yard line, and on second down, they give it to Davenpoop or throw to the TE.

Pretty much all of the Steelers homers were telling the Shark Pool the Steelers really have no defined goalline roles as of yet.
As Ozy just said, when the Steelers get inside the 5 it could go FWP, Davenport, Miller, Spaeth, Tuman (when healthy), Ward, Holmes or even Ben could take it in.

Pretty much dead on. Just like Addai was in a RBBC and wasn't the GL back. Putting too much stake in too little a sample size.

Each game, and the last two in particular, Parker has had some 20-30 yard gains that he needs to beat one more defender to take turn it into a long TD. I've seen a couple instances where the last defender just pushes him out of bounds (and is the first guy to touch him).....a long one is coming soon.

FWP gets goalline carries. He's got two td's, Davenport has 3 td's. Overall the steelers goalline tendency has been to throw to the TE.

Run FWP, Run Davenpoop, pass to TE when FWP is in the game, pass to TE when Davenpoop is in the game....I just think the Steelers are mixing it up down around the goaline to keep defenses guessing thats all. Doesn't bode well for fantasy starter guesswork.

Tomlin said at the beginning of the season that as the year progressed Willie would be used more because he would be in better shape and less winded. I posted a link of that statement sometime ago IIRC.

Wow... you can see in the future? Can you tell me what else is going to happen this following week? It sure would help me set my lineup.
As far as his carry last week, this previous week, I guess he'll get a few attempts. I don't think Davenport gets every carry at the 1, because then defenses know if Davenport is in they're running, if Parker is they're passing. There will be a few Parker goal line carries.
