Windows 10 upgrades will cost $119 after July 29 (1 Viewer)

Working on a Toshiba Satellite I picked up at BB early 2015 for around $450 and just upgraded to Win 10 about a month ago, works pretty good. 

Overall I enjoy my Macbook better and also my iPad gets abused.

So I'm the guy who never runs virus protection. I load my computer up with old games and watch boatloads of porn. Every 12-18 months I just save a few files and reinstall my entire OS rather then deal with the resource hogging protection programs. 

Will I still be allowed to upgrade after my next porn season is over and it's time to reformat? 

Windows 10 comes with it's own virus protection program.  Wont have to worry about reformatting once you upgrade.

I can see why some people would want to stick with Win 7, but, Win 10 >>>>>>>> Win 8.  Except no more WMC which is the only reason I'm still using Win 8 on one machine.

Interested to know why you say that? Win 8 has been stable for me. Wife has Win 10, looks exactly the same. I didn't see anything that looked advantageous about Win 10?

Any gamers out there, if you don't upgrade to Windows 10...no DX12 for you.

That said, I have a gaming pc and 2 laptops on 10. It's fantastic. The only issue was on my pc and I had to buy a $20 wifi usb to replace my crappy onboard card that would occasionally drop connection. I suggest do the upgrade tonight. If you hate it, just roll back within 30 days.

yeah, i haven't had any issues at all and I have 4 laptops and a gaming desktop.  Been on it since it came out in July 2015.

My daughter's laptop has win 10 and she hates it. Slow,  freezes,  Internet connection is dropped all the time - what can I do to trouble shoot the WiFi connectivity and the other issues?  Ran a virus scan and that came up with nothing.  Laptop had win 10 when we bought it.

Upgrade/keep files this past weekend (from WIN 7). Took about 90 minutes and so far haven't noticed any problems. Performance is just fine. Easiest Microsoft upgrade by far. 

This was my experience. I was surprised how fast the upgrade went. Right now looks exactly like my old desktop with all the new features. No complaints yet.

My wireless would disconnect, or just say Internet not connected randomly. I would try updating the driver from a Dell or HP hardware assistant or whatever.

Nothing helped me though so I broke and bought a Panda 300mbps Wireless N USB adaptor from Amazon ($17). The thing is mint - perfect, fast wireless even under intense onling gaming.

I apparently just "reserved" my spot in line to download it. I'm guessing lots and lots of folks waited until the last minute, like me. Message said I will be notified when it is my turn to download it.

Starting to think I'll be sticking with WIn 8.1. I see nothing that would indicate my computer is waiting to download the upgrade.
