 Was incredibly close to picking him

Way to live up to an ethnic sterotype

Wonder if he had to put down his Souvlaki to make this pick

There Goes His Gyro, He's Ordinary
Markakis - the Greek God of unfulfilled expectations
I had him pegged as an awesome lead-off man for this thing. I'm bummed he didn't make it to me.
He was definitely someone I was considering. His skills seem much more transferable to WIS than 5x5 roto.

Team Arsenal for Oso's benefit

for Arsenal...

5.14 Nick Swisher - OF

p.s. it's more nerve-wracking to make picks for someone else than for my own team.

We've made pretty good progress today in spite of four people (Larry, scoobus, cheese & SNC) using up their entire clock before making their pick.

If we haven't already, we're reaching the famed Plateau du Larry stage of the draft. Lists are possible, they've been proven to work.

I almost don't want to pick this guy, because the shtick level is now too high for me to handle, but he is the highest guy left on my list and the next guy down is almost 20 spots later. And I almost took him in round 4 when I took Elvis, some 80+ picks ago.

5.18 Bogart - Michael Young - 3B

The guy is going to get 500+ ABs this year, hit 0.300, have decent power numbers, and more than likely play more than enough at 1B, 2B and 3B to be available at all three spots.

So now my team is the Rangers if they traded Kinsler and Beltre for Ichiro and my next pick.

I will enjoy watching this team.

We setting an O/U on what round Larry waits to select his first P?

I used 28 minutes which is 27 more than I would've used had you not stolen Ricky Nolasco.

My guess is he'll try to draft Gary Peters in round 12

I hate this guy's offensive game. He has the plate discipline of a 4-year-old, and he's always off the board in fantasy drafts about 3 rounds before I even think about him.

But I want that range in CF. Hopefully he can be at least decent offensively.

05.21- Matt Wieters (CA)

Pic

I can't decide if this pick is really smart or really dumb. I still believe.

Ohhhh, Larry......have I got a deal for you!!Just kidding, GB. Unless you are interested in a deal that gets you BOTH Gary Peters and Frank Thomas.

Think about it.

Run on overhyped young Orioles.Wieters was on my radar but I wasn't ready to pull the trigger yet.
I was scared to think about what will be left around the next turn at that position. Like Jones, I'm fairly sure I can count on Wieters defensively. Hopefully, Wieters takes the next step offensively and gives me ~500 AB at a .800+ OPS level.

CF getting THIN.

Clock is off until Monday morning. Hoos will still be skipped at 24 minutes after, but he won't be double skipped after the turn.

Pretty good week of drafting. We're 13.9% complete.
