exclusively a DH in 2010 (probably the same in 2011). He wasn't much of a fielder to begin with and he's had chronic shoulder problems in recent years.

I had Sec Positions ON when making my lists.Can't recall seeing guys with absolutely no defensive rating anywhere before. I thought DHs typically got D/D- at 1B or OF.

We held a private workout with him and he looks good to go at first base.

In his prime from 2004-2006, Hafner did 311/410/583, 305/408/595 and 308/439/659.That's about how well you have to hit to get a job without even being able to play 1B.

Out of curiosity, what's happened when Hafner has played the field? He's played 72 career games at 1B, with a .989 FLD%. I guess that's crummy at 1B?

The other defensive stats I can't make heads or tails of in a vacuum ... they might show that he's a virtual statue out there

He messed up his right shoulder a few years ago and can't throw anymore. He missed some time last season w/ problems to that same shoulder.
