Never would have made it to you. I wanted him, but wasn't counting on his availability- and I'm only a couple picks away.

FYI: I'm having computer problems at home (logged in somewhere else at the moment). I'll be coming around again at the end of the night to make my pix (if we've gotten that far)...

There have been a lot of good picks in the last half round. Much better than before.

Pickles: Cicotte was definitely in consideration there when I took Brown, but I wonder about both his propensity for walks and the bonus he got for playing in Nips' park that time around.

This is not to say that I think it's a bad pick. I don't. I think he'll probably do great, and represents much better value than a lot of pitchers gone thus far.

I would just wonder about the walks, and whether his OAV will be as impressive while not playing in Nips' park.

I can't really understand why he walked so many in WIS II. I have to think Nips used him in a weird way. Probably got overworked a bit.

Like some kind of Angel!!!

having a bad closer was the most frustrating part of Sim II for me. is it just the low innings that scared people off him? otherwise, his numbers seem ridiculusly good. finding innings shouldn't be a problem in this league.

actually, finding good hitters shouldn't be too difficult either. I think you can find hitters with similar numbers to the ones being taken now a few rounds from now.

5.23 Ted Williams, OF, 1955

.356/.496/.703

This pick.
This was the pick I was thinking about when I asked the ABs question. If I could have afforded potentially having to sit him some I'd have picked him anyway. I don't have the spare power at this point, though.

alright, kevin brown and don sutton are available for bats. let me know if you'd like to make the swap.

in all-time sim 2, by the way, they were #5 and #6 in the league in ERA at the end of the year, ahead of christy mathewson, ed walsh, bob gibson (lowest era in sim iv), and walter johnson.

so yeah, they're good.

pm me with your ideas.
