WIS XV: Alphabet Soup with a side of Salary- Draft & Season Thread (1 Viewer)

I wouldn't have wanted to reach on letters so that I could be getting a better mopup guy or 3rd catcher.
You can get starting and top-shelf 1B and OF right now, if you have the right letters available.
Damn straight you can. The 1B I was debating when I took Gentile is still there (though in retrospect I think I made the right choice as that other letter gave me huge flexibility here at the end). Some very solid OF's out there also. I never thought there would be TOO many options this late. If only I found a way to use Z earlier, that's going to be my one dead weight player.

Billy Urbanski, Util

1931, Brutal bat but great glove at SS and 3B, defensive/mopup replacement

Will finish up games for Hornsby with B/A defense, may need a spot start occasionally. Could always play an inning or two at SS if I need to pinch run trammel or something weird happens.

21.24- Dmitri Young (OF)

You guys are this mad over 900 OPS player? Yikes
There were 2 people who seemed legitimately sniped over Bob Unglaub!
in retrospect I'm glad I got Urbanski instead :nerd:
Took Utricht and never looked back. Actually been holding up on in exhibition LIVE.

Umbricht is $$$. Have owned him three times. Was going to be my "U", but I was too stupid to take him mid-draft ... was positive he would slide a lot more.

The Moops has broken the unofficial WIS record for being sniped in one draft
Pffft ... I got him beat like a rented mule as far as snipes in this thing. All my last five picks have been sixth or seventh choices after the 32-pick waits.

OK, SoCal has his M and I need to run, so I'll make my pick rather than hold everyone up.

22.09 Cla Meredith, RP

SoCal - OTC xx:58

Greco - on deck

Hoos - in the hole

Greco via PM22.10 Zip Zabel RP

On June 17, 1915, Zip Zabel set the record for most innings pitched in relief in one game. He came in relief for Bert Humphries with two out in the first inning, and pitched the final 18 1/3 innings to earn the win over the Brooklyn Robins and opposing pitcher Jeff Pfeffer, who pitched the complete game.

I believe that I'm the only M left, correct?Meredith was one of two (well three) guys I was debating, but knew that not all could be taken before it got back to me.

Coming up to shake's pick. I got an advance look at his cheatsheet:

Pedro Martinez

Mariano Rivera

Jesus

Gary Peters

Jimmie Foxx

Old Hoss Radbourn

Ty Cobb

Barry Bonds

Steve Ontiverios

Dave McNally

22.14 Jose Uribe, SS

Not to be confused with Juan Uribe, or a competent player in this sim. Theoretically I might PH for Ripken and I'll need someone else who can play SS.

Final Pitching Line should look like this (assuming I grab whom I expect to - though I don't know what direction I'll go in for the bonus round:

Pitching Totals 102-47-48 1,535 1.97 .199 0.95 5.70 2.17 0.42 916-348

Hopefully won't have to use more than 75 or so of McQueen's innings, though he should at least be serviceable.
