The Busy The Tired

The most important piece of knowledge that I've learned as I've gotten older is to accept things for what they are.

The more you struggle, the more you just prolong whatever suffering you're trying to avoid. Take a deep breathe and allow situations to unfold naturally.

There's always that next big opening and if you're too busy worrying about changing a situation that isn't going your way... you're going to miss out on all the situations that are going your way.

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,: Courage to change the things I can,: And wisdom to know the difference.

My BigThree ---

John Wooden: Happiness begins where selfishness ends

JCLavater (19th C): Self-reform is the point of life. One who reforms oneself does more to change the world than any crowd of noisy patriots

Epictetus (1st C): Man has little control over what happens to him, but utter control over how he reacts to what happens to him.

Some things are, and some things are not. You can't have ####### 'nothing isn't.'  Because if you did you'd have all sorts of weird #### like giant ants wearing top hats running around.

This, but without the unnecessary part.

Knowledge is knowing that tomatoes are a fruit; wisdom is not putting them in fruit salad.
Strength is ability to crush tomatoes

Dexterity is the ability to dodge a tomato thrown at you

Constitution is the ability to withstand eating a rotten tomato

Charisma is the ability to convince people to put tomatoes in a fruit salad is a good idea

What the hell kind of "Life is pre-destined and you have no control so just get pretend to be all zen and it'll be fine" #### is this? You may not always be in control of a situation but that doesn't mean you shouldn't proactively try to improve your lot.

~Pray to God, but row for shore.
