With the trade deadline looming.... (1 Viewer)

Listing only offensive players, but I will say the COLTS NEED A DT !!!! How about trading Anthony Gonzalez + decent pick for a DT or LB? We all know Polian won't do jack though.

Please disregard the fact that I'm not taking into account contract situation. I'm just throwing out some names that I've either heard are OTB and some others that are wild ideas (cow pies throw against the wall to see if they will stick).

I know most, if not all of these players are already on dynasty rosters, but the astute owner could certainly make a trade before the deadline to help his/her team for the stretch run this season.

Tashard Choice or Marion Barber, but not both, maybe neither.

Willis McGahee - Harbaugh says they aren't shopping him. I doubt anyone wants him.

Stephen Jackson - I know I know, that would seem foolish, but would it? Do the Rams actually think they're going to win now?

Vincent Jackson

DeAngelo Williams

Michael Bush

Kolb or Vick?

Lee Evans

Martellus Bennett

Kevin Smith

Steve Slaton

Reggie Bush ??????

Dave Thomas - contract year?

Jeremy Shockey - contract year?

Steve Breaston

Josh Morgan

Justin Gage

Nate Washington

Chad Ocho Cinco ???????? LOL

Devin Aromashodu - A talented WR that doesn't seem to have a place in Chicago

James Davis

Fwiw, the Raiders have let everyone know that EVERYONE on their roster is available for trade.

They did the same thing last season, however, and no one was moved.

Also, don't forget about the back up guys left behind after a trade. Maybe Damian Williams becomes relevant if Tennessee dumps Washington and Gage? Maybe Emmanuel Sanders, Jordan Shipley, Steve Johnson, David Nelson, Jared Cook, Dexter McCluster, Dez Bryant (should Roy Williams get traded), Ramses Barden (should Manningham get traded), James Jones, Harry Douglas, Robert Meachem, LeGarrett Blount, Arrelious Benn (even though I don't like him), Early Doucet (if Breaston is traded), Golden Tate (if Mike Williams is traded).

That's a lot of names. The NFL deadline isn't a speculative event like the MLB deadline. Is there anyone that you think has an above average chance of being moved... considering you might only be able to take a flyer on a guy or two?

I'd love a couple of big names to be dealt, but I doubt there's any meaningful trades. Hopefully I'll be wrong.

I don't know who will be moved. Anyone who says they have a clue is clueless. The logical choices to me are one of Choice or Barber, DeAngelo Williams, Lee Evans, Jeremy Shockey and/or Dave Thomas, Nate Washington, and Steve Slaton. You might get two or three out of that group traded.

I know the deadline is tomorrow, but does anyone know the exact time of the deadline? Noon? 5 p.m.? 11:59 p.m.?
I could be wrong, but I recall reading an article recently that I believe mentioned 4pm ET the other day.
It would be cool if there was some action this year. Usually there's not much to talk about. Any good rumors today?

I know it's uncharacteristic of the Colts, but they sure could use Albert Haynesworth. They play a 4-3 where Haynesworth does well. It's not like he would cost the farm either.

On the Orange and Brown Report, someone mentioned Shawn Rogers for Lee Evans. Makes sense from a Browns perspective- Lee Evans has plenty of experience contributing to dead offenses.

I believe the trading in baseball sucked this year as well :goodposting:

NFL Trade Deadline: Don't Expect a Lot of Movement0

The NFL's trade deadline approaches at 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, but there is not likely to be a whole lot of big-name movement. Most players giving their teams headaches, like Randy Moss and Jerome Harrison, have either been traded away already or seen their teams close the window on potential deals. Additionally, the NFL is notoriously known for slow movement at the trade deadline. Look for that trend to continue on Tuesday.

There are, however a few players that still are on the trading block, even though it is unlikely they will be moved.

Albert Haynesworth: The Redskins defensive tackle is a possibility to be moved, although coach Mike Shanahan said at his Monday press conference that there's a "pretty good chance" he will not be traded away.

Still, Haynesworth has been inactive for the last two games. He believed he was prepared to play in Week 6 against the Colts after missing Week 5 against the Packers due to the death of his half-brother. Haynesworth's problems, however, stem back to training camp with Shanahan and the team. After failing numerous conditioning tests and being held of practice, the former All-Pro was relegated to playing in late-duty action during preseason games.

Shanahan and Haynesworth have butted heads since the defensive tackle refused to participate in the team's voluntary offseason conditioning program this spring. But the Redskins have had trouble stopping the run without Haynesworth and it is doubtful they let him go.

Vincent Jackson: The Chargers holdout receiver is available, but it looks like he will report back to San Diego at the end of the month. The Pro Bowler was suspended and has held out so far for the duration of the 2010 season. With his complicated contract situation and San Diego's recent injuries and struggles in the passing game, Jackson remains unlikely to be moved.

Lee Evans: If one player is moved, a feasible player would be the Bills receiver. The former first-round pick and two-time 1,000-yard receiver only ranks third on the team in receiving yards behind Roscoe Parrish and Steve Johnson, who have been more than viable options for quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. Rookie David Nelson has also been impressive recently. If the right offer is on the table, it is possible Evans can be moved. Unfortunately, for the Bills, Evans has a big contract that many teams will not want to take on.

Willis McGahee: The Ravens running back was the subject of trade talks in past weeks, but it is doubtful the Ravens will part with him. McGahee is a valuable asset to a competitive group in Baltimore, even if he did not see the field in Sunday's loss to the Patriots. It seems coach Harbaugh is still committed to keeping McGahee.

Other names who were rumored to be traded but have been reportedly been deemed unavailable by their respective team is Jonathan Stewart and Steve Smith of the Carolina Panthers.

On the other hand, the Oakland Raiders reportedly have their entire team on the trading block. Nnamdi Asomugha, one of the best cornerbacks in the league, is available, but his contract is enormous and also short term, making it unlikely any team will want to mar their books with his pay.

Running back Michael Bush, however, would be a nice addition for a team looking to add depth at the position. The 26-year-old running back is not one of the higher-paid players in the league and has showed he can provide valuable depth to a backfield. He has run for multiple 100-yard games over the past few years.

According to KFFL

(KFFL) The Carolina Panthers will not trade any of their veteran players prior to the NFL trade deadline, according to a team source, reports Jason La Canfora, of NFL Network. "There is nothing going on with us at all," the source said, "and there won't be anything going on with us." Teams have interest in WR Steve Smith and RBs DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart, but none of them is even a candidate to be dealt, according to the source.

It seems to me trading Williams would make sense no matter what they can get in return (3rd or 4th round pick perhaps). They haven't won a game and may not win a game all year. They have a solid backup in Stewart who they know can fill the roll of Williams and can do just as well. I don't understand why they wouldn't want to get something of value from of him since he probably won't be back on the team next year. Also, they may decide to phase Williams out and Stewart in towards the end of the year.

I was listening to the local ESPN affiliate here in raleigh and they had the beat writer for the Panthers on and asked him about any potential trades. FWIW, he did not think DeAngelo or Stewart would be moved. They did not mention anyone else and he was pretty adamant that no real big moves would be made regardless of how poor the team is doing.

Whoops...didn't even make it down to that post. Good scoop, Mozeta. At least it confirms that the one of the most ripe teams to acquire talent will not be dealing.

Well it just loomed according to my clock. 4PM EST today, right? Nothing on rotoworld. Only blurb says Barber not moving, cowboys standing pat.

When is the exact deadline (date and time)?
Sir, go a few posts up. Or if you're lazy, click on this. :)

Do NFL team's cut/waiver players after the trade deadline bc of their contracts like the MLB? Im not exactly sure of the process, but the MLB trade deadline doesnt have the amount of significance as they broadcast on espn.

Even though Carolina made that statement, I believe nobody when it comes to a cut throat business.
