WK1 Ranking (1 Viewer)

FBG's (authors and subscribers), couple of questions on this weeks projections. I was surprised to see a few players projected really different for wk1 vs where they are ranked for a full season. I understand matchups, but even favorable matchups don't seem to help. Is there recent news in the wk1 rankings that is not considered in the full year rankings or are these function of different opinions of who does wk1 rankings. I've got some guys that I thought were strong every week players, but are not even top 40 in wk1.DB examples.Erik Coleman. Ranked #13 overall but ranked #43 wk1 vs Chiefs (I'd think a strong matchup). Is the uncertainty on if he plays FS or SS putting him down this low?Dunta Robinson. Ranked #8 overall but #25 wk1 vs Bills (I'd think weak matchup so maybe justified)Michael Lewis. Ranked #16 overall but #77 wk1 vs Atl.This is meant to spur conversation and get input, not looking to dis the rankings or anything like that.

I agree. You can add M. Williams and B. Sanders on that list as well. What about DL J. Abraham (granted he may not be in shape yet)? I guess since it is the first game of the season, it's hard to get a barometer for some of the players, but when you look at last year, you'd think they would take it into consideration. Puzzling.

I think Sanders is low wk1 because he is coming off an injury. Not sure about Williams.

Madieu Williams has some sort of injury as well. Not a lot of details, but that might explain his low ranking as well. Hopefully going forward after week 1 the injury reports will be more forthcoming with info.

good question...one thing to keep in mind is that the rankings are consensus from the FBG IDP team.the projections, if i am not mistaken, are the work of john.sometimes, some of the other team members may be higher on a player than john is & vice verce.in the former case, this could cause a situation where there appears to be the disparity you referred to.the rankings do show the individual rankings broken out separately, so it should be fairly easy to reconstruct if the projections are a case of being up or down on a player... IN GENERAL... or playing a matchup.the IDP team will be updating our rankings weekly throughout the season, so you can track that information as well as the projections.

I've got one... who's Ian Scott, CHI DL? I've never heard of the guy but he's fairly high in the projections for this week. I'm sure I'm missing something significant here.

 I dunno, the guy is available in my zealots league, so a few people may be missing something.I guess that's why they play the games, we'll see what happens wk1 and the rankings well definetly get a little easier to project as the season progresses.
