Women's March on Washington (2 Viewers)

I wouldn't even describe this as a movement at all.  A bunch of people got pissed because they lost (mostly women and castrated men) and protested.  That's all this was.  Nothing will come of this other than "look at those cry-babies over".
Maybe not, but what you are describing is exactly how the Tea Party formed.  Bunch of "cry babies" who protested, rallied, called the other guy names, and then started winning elections.

Maybe it's a matter of expression ... I would say that several of my friends, who traveled from Columbus OH to D.C. to march was a result from outrage.

They took a day off of work Friday, drove 6 hours, woke up early the next day and dealt with an overcrowded metro, ate only a breakfast bar and one bottle of water from morning until 6 pm, dealt with crowds so large that it was almost impossible to move, and drove home Sunday only to have to be back at work on Monday. Seems like a lot of women (and men) did this and it's not because they are just a little sad.
Oh, hey @Loves You  !  Did you get tired of that alias and decided on @beavers this week?

How do you feel about the having the first president starting their term actually SUPPORTING gay marriage?

Pretty much.

I'm honestly confused as to your point now.  I'm sure these friends of yours did this because they had outrage, which was what I said earlier.  Then you asked "why do we need to have outrage to have a movement".

I apologize if I'm not getting your point but ultimately I don't think I disagree w you.  There is plenty of outrage, whether it's long-lasting and will affect Trump kind of depends on Trump now.
I think of outrage as the protesters on Friday.... but you're thinking outrage as ?

again, it could be a matter of expression or how we define it.

I'm not sure what I said.  Probably something dumb.  I do agree that the protesters had true outrage.

What, exactly, are they outraged about other than losing an election?  Because Trump used the word "#####" in a sentence?  No rights have been taken away from them that I'm aware of.

This.

It's funny how soon one can forget.
What's funny is you thinking the Tea Party is comparable to this...thing that happened on Friday.  I'm not even sure what it is, or was, at this point.  Bunch of people crying over losing an election and over rights they already have?

Maybe being outraged about losing an election is all it takes to start a movement to not lose the next one.

For the record BizarroMT, the march ,which this is dedicated to, happened on Saturday

Another way of looking at it is they want to make sure they don't lose the rights they have.

The thing is women make up half the population, the more of those people on your side the better shot you have at winning subsequent elections.  There were a lot of teenage and post teenage girls at these rallies, those people are going to vote next time.

So, the Tea Party had this type of protest? More people attended the women's march in one day, than all of the tea party rallies.

Word of advice, you sound a lot like I did a few years ago.

Hey I get it.  I'm not disregarding women, but this looks awfully a lot like a Democrat rally based on unwarranted fear more than any type of movement.  Which is why, to me, this just looks like a protest against losing.

Who knows man.  Different things for different people.  I'm sure some of them wanted to go to a trendy event and post their pics on instagram.  Some were truly outraged.  Some may just want to support their family members.  I don't think any of them believe their rights are being taken away.  It seemed like more of a massive "we don't approve of you" message to me. And it seems to have resonated with many.

So what if it does. I just saw 3 women who organized the Chicago rally. They all said they were going to be more involved from now on and are looking to organize more rallies
Wasn't this the election they were supposed to get more involved in since there was already a woman running (albeit, a corrupt, unethical one) ?

Sure, I guess.  This is the serious movement where one of their keynote speakers said she wanted to "blow up the White House", right?

They dropped the ball and maybe they now realize that. Game resets in a few years, time to pick up the ball and play better next time.

I said the same thing about the Tea Party, most people did.  You could be right but I am not going to dismiss this movement until I see more.  All the women on my Facebook feed who went all over the country said it was a great experience without exception.  Not all are flaming liberal types either, although there were a few of those too.

That makes sense.  I guess we'll eventually see how this pans out.  You're maybe more optimistic than I am, but if anything comes out of this I hope it's that both sides can put up an acceptable candidate.

I don't think you can judge all the women that went to this thing because of Madonna.

"Keynote speaker" :lmao:
I personally wish Madonna would go away. She's attention seeking, and her comments re: the WH is aligned with that assessment.

It's stuff like that which takes away from the legitimacy (if any) of the "movement".
Now this is funny. I'm not sure anyone other than the secret service has paid any attention to her comments. Maybe the Trumpkins since they're looking for reasons to diminish the march.

God the irony is as rich and the hypocrisy is thick.

This dismissive attitude is EXACTLY how the DNC lost touch with the pulse of so many Americans. To see Trump, the republican establishment and their core base so quickly follow the same path, albeit in the opposite direction, is staggeringly inane.

Though totally expected, sadly.

Seems Madonna aided in that herself.  No help from the (derogatory term) "Trumpkins" was needed at all.

You may have a point with the dismissive attitude.  Probably not a good idea to take ANYONE lightly anymore.

Ironically these marches had more passion x100 than any Hillary event. Mostly it was known by her voters (she didn't have "supporters" per se, just people begrudgingly voting for her over Trump), she stunk to high heaven, that's how Barack beat her in the first place in 2008. No one liked her back then either. She was a war mongering quasi Republican and that was before emails and Benghazi. It's a high price to pay though, the "therefore, President Trump" is a tough and somewhat spiteful consequence it seems.

Let me see if i got this right. You went from fake outraged women and castrated men to... being "optimistic"? Wtf?

The hell you did.  You're not fooling anyone.  I know you just sat up in your chair and eagerly started browsing to see where you could make a donation to my campaign.
I don't know ... something about man boobs is just ... well ... disgusting.

Maybe you should have marched on Saturday to help with either reducing the size of your moobs or I'm sure some gal out of the 3 million ripped off her bra in protest and you could have taken it.
