This is only because they just offered this thing 2 weeks ago and many of us have it already. If this were the first offer, at that price it would be long gone by now, even if people have zero intention of ever using it.

The funny thing is that the site was running more smoothly about 30 minutes ago. As this thing comes closer and closer to ending, the site is going back to crawl-speed as uber-geeks everywhere are wearing the print off their F5 keys in anticipation of the next crappy gadget.

 
Another observation -- I've noticed that anything "wireless" sells like hot cakes on here, regardless of how crappy it may be. Geeks LOVE wireless.

I bet they could sell boatloads of Ticonderoga No. 2 pencils if they just advertised them as "wireless."

 
From the woot forums (which look alot like these, with people generally #####ing that (1) they missed the bag of crap and (2) wishing this damn EA sports thing would end:

"According to that list on the first page of all the woots today, if my calculations are correct.. excluding shipping costs (and also shipping profits, if any) woot has made $172,345.72. Roughly. Not bad, considering we aren't even done!"

I bought it, too. Brought back memories of the hours I wasted in my dorm room between the occasional classes that I made it to and drunkenly trying to get into chicks' panties. God, I miss college. :cry:
