Will be Friggin cold on Thanksgiving night in Philly

Cold and Windy

Is Anybody Concerned?

Would hate to do something stupid like play Trent Edwards over him

Well, then don't do something stupid like that. The Giants have a hell of a defense and pass rush, how many did he just hang on them?My other option is Shaun Hill, so yeah, definitely not.

Bench Warner at your own risk. He slinging it like it's 1999. You might choke on your Turkey if you bench him for Edwards.

Besides, you seen those gloves Warner wears? Short controlled passing game won't be affected as much by the wind.

Disclaimer: I own and am starting him.

Just sayinhas he been hit really hard in the cold yet?
Not yet, there are no guarnatees. But I don't think that is enough of a concern to bench the guy. The Giants smacked him around pretty good in AZ last week.Warner is a big injury risk, but certainly not gutless. He's pretty fearless when a blitzer is bearing down on him.

Lemme get this straight...you're going to bench Warner because it's going to be in the high 30s with winds of 2-5 mph?

Where do these people come from?

350 yds and a TD against a better defense last week. The forecast doesn't look too bad so far for Philly.

Thanksgiving Day

"Sunny. Highs in the upper 40s. West winds 5 to 10 mph."

By game time, high 30's/low 40's. Could be worse. I woudln't bench Warner or Brees no matter who they played.

Plus, things can't be too jolly in Philadelphia right now. They are out of the playoffs and McNabb getting benched?

I bet Andy Reid is real popular right now. Thanksgiving Day? I bet they'll put forth their absolute best effort

I'm not concerned. Flacco threw for 183 yards and 2 TD's against the Eagles in the cold weather in Maryland last weekend. Warner has Boldin, Fitzgerald, and Breaston to throw to. I'm not worried about him playing in the cold. Tomorrow night's forecast in Philly at 8:00 pm is 37 degrees and winds at 4 mph. That's not bad.

I'm not worried about the cold in Philly since I don't live there and won't be there. I'm also not benching Warner in either of my leagues.

I own Warner in 4 leagues. He is my horse, my best draft pick, my fate. I will stop riding him when he actually stops producing. Not before. I don't have a backup for him in 2 of my leagues...

Warner owners who aren't nervous every week you start him must not have had Warner in the past.

They obviously did not draft Warner with their 1st round pick in 2002. He went down in the 4th game that year.

They obviously did not pickup Warner in 2005 before the playoffs with the hopes of him bringing a championship. In Week 15 vs Houston he played the first 3 Arizona possessions, went 10 for 10, 115yds, 1td, then went down with injury, sending your championship hopes into the ground.

I'm just trying to explain how these threads get started. This is where the fear comes from.

With that said, I'm starting Warner this week, because yes I drafted him again, and he's got me 1 win away from the playoffs, so I'm sticking with him.

I'm sorry, but how is this not a WDIS post. Can't believe the sharks haven't called him on this. :hophead:

I have always been a huge Warner fan while living in Saint Louis. I had him ranked in my top 5 qb's preseaon and have stuck by him all year. However I see a letdown coming this week. Warner has never done great in outdoor games with less than great conditions. Add in the fact that Philly has a great defensive scheme, east coast to east coast and the whole McNabb thing and I see a blowout for Philly Sunday night.

Warner will still probably have over 250 and 1 or 2 td's but I would also bet he as atleast 2 int's.

Not an awful game for fantasy purposes unless you get - points for int's.

Cold? It's going to be 48 in Philly tomorrow. Low of 35 Thursday night. That's not very cold. Winds of 5-10 mph. Non factor. Start him.
Seriously. Warner should be a "set it and forget it" in your lineup. Period.

It's too bad the AZ WRs dropped about 10 passes or Kurt would have had another 100 yards. I don't think Warner was affected by the weather but the same might not apply to the WRs.

how was that effort in your opinion tonight?

Eh, I've seen better  :ptts:

Despite the WR's blowing, Warner still ended up with 235yds and 3 TDs, when at the half 200yds, 2TDs looked optimistic.

He easily wouldve been over 300 yards if not for the drops, maybe another TD (and maybe a 2PT conversion)

I only get penalized 1 pt for INTs, so he got me over 18 points this week. I can live with that for a Kurt down week

I see a blowout for Philly Sunday night.
Let us know how that works out.
I will. There is only one quarterback that is a must start quarterback in this game and his name is Mr. McNabb.

Mr. McNabb 25-32 320 yards 2 td's and 4 carries for 32 yards and 1 td

Eagles win 34-17
I guess I'll say that worked out pretty good
