Would you be pissed about this? (1 Viewer)

I had a 2 game lead with 3 weeks left. Playing my brother last week who was 9 games out with no chance at even sniffing the playoffs.

He makes a huge 9 player trade with the leader of a different division, here is the trade. He is "Ding":

Ding traded Ty Wigginton, Hou 3B

Ding traded Lance Berkman, Hou 1B

Ding traded Al Reyes, TB RP

Ding traded Paul Byrd, Cle SP

DONG traded Ryan Garko, Cle 1B

DONG traded Corey Hart, Mil CF

DONG traded Jeremy Bonderman, Det SP

DONG traded Jeremy Guthrie, Bal RP

DONG traded Brian Fuentes, Col RP
Not sure how lopsided it is, but after this trade he loads up on starters 7 total for Saturday and Sunday and ekes out a 6-4 win, because with all those starters on the weekend, he took me in K's, and WHIPI'm pissed off because one, the trade probably should have not been allowed as he is completely out of the playoffs, and two why did he load up like that? Seriously WTF?

Maybe I don't have a right to be pissed, but I am.

ETA, this is not a dynasty or keeper league.

I would be pissed but from his point of view I would do everything I could to beat my brother. We are pretty competitive and will do anything to gain the upper hand.

I understand this, but when there is money on the line, and one brother has absolutely no stake in it, why would you try to screw your brother out of money?

So I could do the I beat you dance in front of him.

Do you guys get paid out for every win you get during the regular season? If so, he might be trying to win as many games as possible, so he loses less money.

Ding ding ding!

No trade deadline? If your leagues playoffs start at the end of august, it should be at least a month before.
They did this on Friday which was the trade deadline.I agree the trade deadline needs to be moved up next year.I called my brother to rip him a new one, and just as I figured, he had no clue how this impacted me in the standings, he thought I had it locked up weeks ago and just wanted to beat me once this year  . He told me if this loss screws me out of winning the division, he'll pay me half of what I might lose.

How about this one...

I have a narrow 3 point lead over the 2nd place team and a 7 point lead over the 3rd place team. 4th-10th are pretty much out of contention barring any miracles.

So yesterday, I get notified that the 2nd place team and the 10th place team are going to pull off the following trade -

2nd place team gets Juan Pierre, Alex Rodriguez and Francisco Cordero

for

Kevin Youkulis (sp?), Joe Borowski, Shawn Marcum, and Brian Fuentes

The rest of the league is apathetic at this point in the season and only myself and the 3rd place team have objected to this unfair trade. If there are less than 4 objections, the trade stands. Outright cheating IMO and since these guys are not my friends it will be the end of this league for me.

Not sure how loading up on starters helped him in WHIP. It's not like it's cumulative.

...and when I got home yesterday, the trade made it through and there was not a darn thing I could do about it. To make matters worse, the team that got 4 players dropped Youklis to get back under the 22 man roster limit. So the trade was in essence -ARod, Pierre and CorderoforBorowski, Marcum and FuentesIt was only a $50 league and I will probably still finish in the money at 2nd place; but I will never be in this league again.
