Make up your mind. Do the 6-8 scrubs suck or not? If they suck, what's the big deal if you get a zero for Brady's bye or a 1 or 2 from a sucky scrub? If they don't suck, you should have rostered one on your supposedly large roster.Trade for a QB this week. Your large roster obviously should have some bait. Not even, it was more about what's the point of adding one of the 6-8 scrubs always avail if he's likely to get benched or hurt by the time I need him. Obv if there was a half descent QB on the waiver wire I would have rostered him, but all of the guys sucked.I find it hilarious that most of you think it's fun to play a guy that has no QB. Do you also wish car wrecks, or natural disasters that prevent your friends from being able to swap out bye week players? It's so fun playing a short handed team, but hey WIN BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!With large rosters and seemingly space on your roster - no excuse for not picking up a replacement QB for a known bye week.
Its almost as thought you were extending your roster by one - to keep you back-up QB on the practice squad (waiver wire) without having to use up a roster spot for him until necessary.![]()
That's the thing that set the hook for me. The gall of whining about his unsportsmanlike leaguemates and then he pulls shenanigans like that...I'd swear he was a high-schooler at home with the swine flu and in the throes of a fever given the lack of maturity and inability to reason through it. If this guy really is in his mid to late 20's and works in an office somewhere, he must be the inspiration for the some of the characters in The Office.Have we heard from him lately? I'm guessing his leaguemates have all been directed to this thread by now and he is getting hammered with ridicule.Keep in mind that several of those 53 votes are due to the OP switching the poll choices so he'd get a bump. He then switched them back. The fact that he did that is, to me, the funniest thing in this thread. I'm guessing he was going to lead his leaguemates here to show them the poll results at some point but it didn't quite go as he wanted.Knobs said:Bush league, childish, lack of sportsmanship [ 53 ] ** [17.67%]I think hoarding players you obviously have no use for is great strategy [ 247 ] ** [82.33%]Keep fighting the good fight, OP!I love the fact he came here asking for support in his viewpoint, and when he was completely and totally disagreed with he now claims it's everyone else that has the problem.
Haven't seen him around under that name in this thread lately. One of his leaguemates - at least he said he was - posted earlier in the thread. If he really is in the league with our hero, I'm sure the entire league is on his case by now.Looking back, it probably would have given this thread more legs had he not been beaten on so hard at first & could have gotten him to post a link to the league (or at least his roster). But the (deserved) blitzkreig right off the bat killed any chance of that, I think. That's the thing that set the hook for me. If he acts the same in his real life as he has acted in this thread - he is probably used to ridicule by now. That's the thing that set the hook for me. Keep fighting the good fight, OP!

In all fairness, I am not really in a league with him...but he is one of my favorite fantasy football league owners so i actively follow his fantasy coaching career. I was going to draft him in my fantasy owner draft, but some other bastards in my league hoarded all the good fantasy coaches and I was left holding the bag.Haven't seen him around under that name in this thread lately. A) You come in here with a serious question.B) You don't get the answer you want, to the tune of 280 -59.C) Then you keep coming with smart### answers like this when others point out the error of your ways. You should just quit the league as you suggested in the title. The league will be better off without you.Oh yes, lesson learned in the serious sport of fantasy football. The part I simply don't get is:A) I generally keep an empty roster spotB) I have no back-up QBI wouldn't be surprised if your league co-horts saw this...decided to learn you the lesson the hard way by saying 'even Jake Delhomme is better than an empty roster spot".I'm in a league with friends too and in some cases it's as much, if not more, fun to expose them in a manner like this than to beat them.![]()
Disgusting.Totally unacceptable posting here...........It's good to see the unemployed guys who are home during weekday after noons, and take fantasy football way too serious have found the time to respond that such tactics are perfectly kosher. So, when you guys know your mom has to use the bathroom, do you run to it 1st and lock the door. When she knocks and asks you to hurry do you respond, "Mom, you should have planned ahead," and continue taking your time while reading thru the latest Maxim magazine?. I generally don't like to follow the clique but you asked for advice, got it and now you're insulting everyone. Pathetic.
Dude, you still don't get it. You admitted you have an open roster spot to play, and your league has large roster limits. You have ZERO excuse your not rostering a QB after you dropped delhomme. I don't care if he is a scrub or not, you should have looked for the one with the best matchup during brady's bye and held on to him. If he gets hurt or benched just pick up his replacement or someone else on the wire. Its that easy, how many other teams in your league don't carry a backup?"so why not wait until tuesday of brady's bye?"I hope you can figure it out from the 7 pages on your post. pick up who ever you can get, take your lumps, and move on. You making yourself look like a whiny #####, in all honesty. Besides, you should have confidence in your team to win even with a clunker in one spot, it happens to most people in larger, competitive leagues.Clearly most people here haven't read even one full page because I've said over and over why I didn't roster a bottom of the barrel QB: because there are always 6-8 there, the worst of the worst have a tendency to get hurt/benched, so why not just wait until the Tuesday of Brady's bye. If someone cut a player like Garrard obv I would have rostered him.
lol...keeping an open roster spot is, plain and simple, moronic.I know he's not coming back.....but this thread is pure hilarity...pin?Clearly most people here haven't read even one full page because I've said over and over why I didn't roster a bottom of the barrel QB: because there are always 6-8 there, the worst of the worst have a tendency to get hurt/benched, so why not just wait until the Tuesday of Brady's bye. Most normal people have two Qbs on their roster. Look, if this was absolute, blatant collusion (unknown in your situation) then yeah I'd be a little ticked. Obviously you'd getting singled out then but so what? It's a game. Regardless your roster is seriously deficient without a backup QB so you kind of set yourself up for this and the collusion is arguably good strategy - especially if you have a good record.Obv I didn't expect everyone here to agree with me, after all this is a fantasy football message board, I'm sure 90% of the people here will do what ever it takes to win. Most normalpeople aren't going to get satisfaction, or fun out of beating a team that doesn't roster a QB.Wow, that is pretty in depth. I don't think someone that hasn't experienced such events could make them up.It's good to see the unemployed guys who are home during weekday after noons, and take fantasy football way too serious have found the time to respond that such tactics are perfectly kosher.
