Would you start QB/RB/WR from same team? (1 Viewer)

Have an opportunity for a trade that would bring me Derek Anderson and Jamal Lewis.

Not asking if I should make the trade, but if I did make it, I would be starting them with Braylon Edwards.

I can think of some teams in the past you would do this with - St.L with Warner, Faulk, and Holt/Bruce. Some of the Colts teams of the last couple of years.

Curious what your opinion of stacking so much of your team from one NFL team is.

had a guy in my league start McNabb, Westy, Kurtis, Akers and Philly DEF first part of the year and he was kicking butt, now he is hurting

i like starting a QB and WR from that same team, that is about it

We've got a guy who is starting Anderson/Winslow/Edwards; been doing that since week #2 or week #3. He is the 2nd best team in our league, in large part because of those 3.

I've been starting Anderson and Lewis for the last couple of weeks with success. I also have Winslow (as a WR, no TE league) and have only started him once with the other two because of bye weeks. I have two other good WRs but have been tempted to start Winslow because of the Browns offense. If one of my WRs starts to slip and the match-up is right I will start all three with confidence.

It's not such a good idea when the 3 players play on a field in the condition it was tonight at Heinz Field . . .

I go with Romo/TO/Witten each week - it's certainly risky as last week they didn't all exactly have 'stellar' games, and if Dallas(Romo) has an exceptionally bad week I'll lose - but so far this year it's paid off very well.

If the offensive system, the schedule, and conditions warrant it, then yeah...having multiple skill-position players from the same team can make sense. Especially after the bye weeks are past.

I'm sure no one would argue about having Brady/Moss/Welker right now (more than possible - actually LIKELY for some Pats fans). Peyton/Addai/Wayne would be tough to pull, but could happen trading from depth. Warner/Edge/Fitz wouldn't be a terrible combo either, depending on matchups.

I'd say that Cleveland is a good candidate for having multiple players, given DA's performance (increasing the value of almost all the receiving options), and Lewis's spurts of production. I personally am taking a flyer and picked up Jurevicius this week to team with the Anderson/Edwards combo I've been running with, hoping to hedge my bets in a possible shootout in Arizona.

Of course, it all depends on your other options - in my case, Evans/Santana/Cotchery were my other choices at WR2, and I don't feel good about any of them.

Put your best team on the field, and if 3-4 of them happen to be from the same team, then hope you don't get a monsoon like Monday night, out of nowhere. :)

I've had all three of these guys all season, and have been playing Edwards and Winslow while benching Anderson for Kitna to try and hedge my bets. I think I've gotten the better end of that deal once.

In this instance, would do it in a heartbeat -- especially given Clevelands FF playoff schedule!

Guy in my league has the same trio and is in first in his division. I had Bulger/Holt/SJax last year and won the league. I guess it's always risky to have all yer eggs in one basket, but if you have a team that scores does it matter?

I have Winslow and traded for DA. I'm currently tied for first in the standings, second in total points scored. The team I'm tied with and who is leading the points race....has Lewis, Edwards, Jurevicius and Dawson.

CLE's offense is primed. Bad defense means alot of throwing. Good offensive line means minimal sacks and a higher % of completions. Perfect Storm.

Jamal is going to go huge down the stretch. Football Outsiders has been tracking stats with their special system since about 1999, and said last week that the schedule of run defenses Jamal has played so far (including Balt and Pitt twice) average out as the fourth or fifth hardest schedule any RB has faced in all that time. They also said that number was about to change as Jamal's sked got much easier -- looks like they were right based on his performance vs. Houston. And he also ran very well vs. Baltimore, who is still death on FF RBs, even with their struggles this year.

I have Romo, TO and Witten in 1 league. Usually don't go for this, but they were the best available players when it was my turn to draft. I am the 2nd highest scoring team in my league.

Its risky but can payoff in a productive offense. There are two ways to look at it.

Glass half full - at least somebody should score and possibly all three

Glass half empty - team meets a tough D and struggles where all three players are unproductive

Here's a poor man's combo - Rivers/Gates/LT (if Rivers could get some consistency)

I've gone a step further. I started the season with Jamal and Braylon as starters. Traded Cutler and a 4th rounder for Anderson. To top it off, Phil Dawson is my kicker. I was once at 3-5 and am now 7-5 with a playoff spot locked. I've been 2nd in points scored since trading for Anderson also. I didn't plan on my lineup having 4 Browns, but thats how it has worked out.

This is in a 14-team standard scoring league where we keep 4 players. I came into the season with Braylon, Jamal, Addai and Cutler.

The obvious advantage being playoff schedule. Right now, I like Anderson, long term I believe Cutler is going to be a stud. I'm rolling with the Cleveland quad and the future looks bright.

I drafted Hasselbeck and Branch, and they start every week for me (Branch when healthy). I also drafted M. Morris in the late rounds as possible trade bait through the season. Trade never occured, and I am now starting 3 Seahawks. I won this past weekend, clinching a playoff berth. Would prefer to sit Branch or Morris, but the way my team looks right now, it just doesn't warrant it right now. And they're all performing at least very well. Been in ff for 20 years now, and have always hated doing this, and try to stay away from it, but it is working for me right now.

Thanks to everybody for the advice - now I just need to get the other owner to lose the cold feet and pull the trigger.

Hopefully I'm back here bragging after week 16!!!

In my auction league, I drafted Brees, Bush and Colston and I start the 3 of them most of the time. I also have Big Ben for QB, so I've substituted him in there for Brees at times. It's worked out pretty well so far, though I'm disappointed in Bush's performance.

I have a guy in my one league who starts . dallas def. witten , j jones and t.o every week and he is 8-3 . not bad . but as the cowboys go down so will he . its risky but can work . just watch the match ups

I acquired Jamal Lewis a couple of weeks ago and have him, Edwards and Winslow penciled in as starters pretty much the rest of the way....They have a cake playoff schedule....

Doh, I forgot that trio too. In my league, the division leaders have trios. Romo/T.O./Witten and Brees/Colston/Bush...... I tried to go the same route during my draft and got Smith/Gore/VD but we all know how that turned out.

If they're the best players, sure.

I'm in a position where I have Hines Ward and Ben; Losman and Evans, and VY and Scaife; I used to have Warner and Boldin until I traded Boldin.

I don't think I ever started both QB/WR from the same team this year, until this MNF. Luckily, I still won.

If the options are relatively equal - VY/Ben/Warner somewhat are, with the right matchups, I don't play the same QB and WR.

Often, I benched Ward for Evans, Roy, and/or Boldin if I wanted to start Ben.

If they're playing the Bengals, I strongly consider starting both Ben and Hines - unless the field is bad
