Would you trade Vick? (1 Viewer)

Vick has had an incredible run! I'm thinking of "selling high" on VICK and "buying low" on someone else. MJD currently has 13 points in my fantasy football league, it is a PPR/keeper league. That's 13 points FOR THE SEASON! I just sent an offer of Vick+Bjackson for MJD. I'm thinking of ssending another one, Vick+LT+Bjak for MCfadden+Beenie. I'm very high on Beenie. Anyways, if you owned Vick, would you trade him? I'm not asking you to respond to my specific situation, because then my post would need to go in the "assistant coach forum." No, this is just an overall question on where Vick's value currently resides? What would you trade him for? What would be fair?

BTW, I have Orton as my backup and think i will do fine with him.

I just got off the phone with a league-mate.

I gave Vick and Addai. I got Miles Austin.

So obviously, yes it's a good time to trade him if you can get a stud. However, I'm a believer in Vick. He should be very goo all year long.

I think it really depends on needs.

I do think Vick is a sell high guy right now. No, I don't think he will fall on his face or anything. There has just been so much hype and he has played great. However, let's not forget who it was against. I think he will be a solid QB the rest of the way, but his value is probably a bit inflated right now.

I wouldn't trade him unless I got a top 10 QB and I could improve in another area. If I traded Vick straight up for a RB or WR, my starting QB would be Vince Young.

I sold Vick last week for Hakeem Nicks straight up. I have Cutler and Big Ben on my roster as well. I went from having WR problems to having a viable WR2/flex play alongside Randy Moss and Calvin (eeek).

Traded Foster and Hasselbeck for Vick and Rice today. Not sure what the other owner was thinking when he offered it but I jumped at the opportunity.

Thanks for all the replies. I think everyone agrees that Vick is definitely for real, but his value is inflated right now. I'm trying to move Vick, i have Orton as the backup. I think if i could get a top 20-25 talent, it is a wise trade. The MJD owner in my league said he would trade him straight up, except for it is a keeper/ppr league, and he is not sure whether Vick will be starting next year. I tend to agree with him some what, Vick's situation is not solid, so in keeper leagues his value should be lower. He also is what, 30 or 31 years old? He started off with so much speed/burst, that despite it falling some what he is still one of the faster players in the league. At his physical peak, i would say that it wasn't even close, Vick was #1 in terms of burst/speed/quickness. But what about at age 32-33? Surely he is past it and falling, and without the speed Vick just wouldnt be Vick.

I have another offer going, Vick+Bjackson+Sproles for Des Bryant and Jamaal Charles. The guy is currently starting Matt Hassleback, so he needs a QB. I'm not sure if he is going to accept it though. I would rather this deal go through over the MJD deal, because i'm quite not sure how much longer MJD can put up stud numbers. We have seen a decline this year already. He is still young, but has been running hard for 4 NFL years now. Looking back, Shaun Alexander as an example had 5 strong years. 5 premium years seems like a good median for NFL backs, and MJD is on his getting up their in terms of mileage. I'm also thinking of a Ryan Mathews or Arian Foster straight up swap with Vick. Time will tell what happens, but i'm looking to move Vick.

My redraft league values QBs (6pt/td, 1pt/10yds passing) quite a bit. That being said, I'm looking to trade him right now while his stock is high. He'll have some good games, but I still don't think he's all that accurate. That and footballoutsiders is pretty low on him as well.

I wasn't involved in this deal, but a big trade went down. This is a dynasty league so keep that in mind.

Team A Receives:

Mike Vick

Hakeem Nicks

Team B Receives:

Miles Austin

Lance Moore

Both teams are easily in the top 3 or 4.

I traded for him last week for a 1st round rookie pick in a 14-team dynasty league.

My QB's were Kolb, Campbell and McNabb, so you can see my motivation. My team's good, so the first rounder will be low, almost certainly in the 11-14 range.

At the end of the day it completely depends on the return and the needs of your team but it would take a hefty price to get him from my team. He's a top 5 qb right now with a real potential to be the #1 qb overall. I wouldn't be selling high for the sake of selling high and cashing out expecting him to fall off. He's the type of lottery ticket that will probably end up winning teams the most championships this year.

traded in our redraft league yesterday.

Michael Vick/Mike Tolbert/Marques Colston

for

Mark Sanchez/Brandon Jackson/Brandon Marshall

that looks to be a pretty bad trade for the Vick owner there. Marshall is slight uptick to Colston, Jackson may be a slight uptick to Tolbert but Vick is a huge upgrade over Sanchez.

No way

he looks like he is getting back to the ol' Vick and the ol' Vick had some serious trade value

agreed.vick owner was 3-0 and the other owner is 0-3.vick owner has flacco and mcnabb as well so not sure why he would want to trade vick.

In a redraft league, Vick + Ry Matthews were traded for ADP.

Those guys are pretty much on crack, though.

I would sell high for the right price, b/c I do believe he had cupcake DEF first few weeks (and GB was not ready for him). That being said, I am happy to keep him in QBBC with Cutler, since both take alot of hits and both have upside. If you are 'stuck' with him, realize it's early in the season, and it's a luxury to have two decent QBs.

I tried to trade him for Romo straight up to a Cowboys hater. Didn't fly.

My Buddy traded Vick in one league. It was something like

Vick, Crabtree, Warm Body for Mendenhall, Wallace and Alex Smith.

He could have had Henne or Sanchez instead of Smith but hindsight is 20/20. Still got a top 10 RB and an up and coming WR. Pretty good return.

I've been one of the biggest critics of his passing, but honestly he looks better than the old Vick. His passing skills are much better, certainly helped by better coaching and receivers, but still. He actually reads the field and goes through progressions, all with the same pocket awareness and scrambling ability. I want to see more but he may turn into another Steve Young if he keeps this up.

I'm taking Ryan Mathews and favre for Vick and Harrison as ling as Mathews is practicing fully today. I have schaub.

Are these topics frustrating for other owners in Auction leagues? There's little chance of getting "equal" value for the price that many of us are carrying Vick for on our rosters. Trading is very unlikely when salary caps and player contracts are added to the equation.
