WR Brian Thomas Jr., JAX (4 Viewers)

Some blame BTj while other are placing the blame on TL. I still can’t believe there were folks that thought BTJ>Leek. I saw this on multiple places and could not believe it. This was not true in Baton Rouge and it’s not true in the NFL.

Has there ever been a rookie with the kind of pedigree Thomas has that hit so big year 1 and failed so bad year 2 without some kind of obvious thing like an injury?

I don't think you can watch the box score and draw any conclusions. I'll have to watch the full game, but the QB is wretched. He's throwing wounded ducks, hospital balls, you name it.

It looks like he knows everybody is watching a fraud.

BJT could have acquitted himself much better last week. For sure. But Trevor stinks like microwaved fish.

Yeah, you know I never said anything because I roster him but the late 1st and the turn seemed really ambitious given that they drafted Travis Hunter second overall and gave up a boatload for him. I was never confident in BJT's year after that. Just like McConkey with Keenan Allen, even though it has really been about QJ in that case.

Yeah my only share of BTJ was a 10th round keeper and so far that’s pretty much the value he’s given me

I just thought about it silently and hoped against hope but I remember him with TLaw last year (it was not even close to this bad but it wasn't smooth) and I thought it was a bit of good fortune to go along with his talent.
 
Just watched some “highlights” of that game. BTJ was running free for a TD and Lawrence just didn’t see him. At all.

Another drop too, but that long TD would have been the difference between a good or bad FF day.

Fortunately I was working so it spared me from that torment, but a friend was in Vegas watching in the sportsbook and said TLaw was “the worst QB I’ve ever seen”. And he’s a raiders fan who watched plenty of Jamarcus Russell.

I didn't give it a dedicated watch. I watched like six games at once. But every time I looked up and something was happening (not necessarily with BJT) it was pretty darn bad.

My bad. I am a Giants fan and that’s what all the Fans call him. Not sure if it’s new or a carry over from LSU. But yeah, saying Malik is easy as saying Leek.
 
Has to be the ultimate buy low right now.

T. Lawrence looks like crud, but I wonder if it's everyone adjusting to the new HC and his offense. Something seems off.

I'd be willing to bet on the talent and the offense finally clicking at some point.

Most BTJ shareholders invested substantially, and recently. I doubt you can buy him low either.

Ladd as well - I’m skeptical any Ladd shareholder is selling below where his value was at the beginning of the season right now.
 
With a holiday for school personnel on tap tomorrow, I am sipping a nice Scotch watching MNF and will be sending offers for BTJr all game long.

Finna get wavy and toss out offers for everything from a Diddle-Eyed Joe to a Damned if I Know.

I did not want to spend the draft capital on Ladd due to Keenan. I mean Ladd was brought in to replace Keenan. Then you get Keenan back. This was always going to impact Ladd.

Not sure about BTJ’s issues. At this point give me Drake or even Garret Wilson and I’m accepting that.
 
BTJ hasn’t exactly moved into buy low, but he’s at the point where the BTJ owner is willing to listen to offers they wouldn’t have two weeks ago.

ETA : you’re not going to get BTJ one for one, you’re going to need BTJ-level replacement Plus another piece they need. Davante and Trey McBride? Probably a no, but they’ll think about it. (Redraft obviously)

There’s also a high chance your BTJ owner is 0-3 and can feel this season slipping away.

Garrett Wilson? Who is paying that for this trainwreck?

I've got offers out for Pearsall and Sutton, doubtful that they will work either.

After that I'm going Keenan A and Pittman.
 
I do not see the BTJ owners making a trade at any steep discount with where they drafted him,
the offers being made probably will not help them out all that much so they will keep holding for now hoping
he will help their team.

Buy low on someone like this is pretty much extinct lol

They're probably too depressed to do much of anything.

Poke them with a stick! And if you discover they haven't killed themselves I think you'll be surprised what they might accept.

A 7-11 Slurpee poured at the right angle to really get that nice pileup comes to mind

I gotta quote myself because they're saying he had a couple more drops in the game. That's not good. I don't know what to say. Lawrence did look terrible, but you gotta catch the ball when it's there.
 
The biggest key is they're winning. They are a few flukey plays away from being 3-0 right now. So it gives them time and incentive to figure it out.

Yeah that is a nice benefit being two in one and only a game behind Indianapolis.

But it also feels like there are a few fluky plays away from being 0-3. But they're not and that's all that matters.

If they were 0-3, I think we'd see the whole thing unraveling with BTJ and TLaw yapping at each other.

Redraft, sure. But he was kinda found money in Dynasty as a late 1st / early 2nd in most rookie drafts. He's not like Puka found money, but not many had him playing so well in 2024. I think a LOT of fantasy players were expecting JJets results from him going into season 2 and it's just not happened for whatever reason. It's always difficult for fantasy GMs (myself included) to temper expectations of players who 'break out' in year 1. I think there are a bunch of sophomore slumps with DCs and Defensive players getting to know tendencies.

In redraft I'm thinking about it. Considering offers of BTJ for Benson, BTJ for Omarion, BTJ for Skattebo (I have Tracy), BTJ for Pittman & Tuten (I have Etienne).

In redraft I am definitely looking to unload BTJ. He may turn into a second half season winner but, that won't matter much if I'm out of it by week 7.
