Just thinking about how the Chiefs like to do things, neither Mecole or Pringle are a good fit as the X. I’m kind of intrigued by Cornell Powell. I get why he doesn’t have his own player thread. Redshirt senior, late breakout, no draft capital. But he’s a 5th competing against a fourth rounder & a UDFA. I could see him filling the Watkins role in a year or two.Pringle is a cheap ticket in dyno. Well worth the dice roll IMO. I like him better than Hardman and he costs next to nothing.
Agree, another cheap ticket. #2 wr for the Chiefs is really like the #3.5 wr. You may have some good weeks in there but as long as Hill/Kelce are doing their thing it is tough to find consistent production. BTW…it is unfair that one team has both Hill and Kelce. For how good Mahomes is he is also spoiled with riches (including Andy Reid).Just thinking about how the Chiefs like to do things, neither Mecole or Pringle are a good fit as the X. With any of these guys, you’re not banking on the talent of the player. You’re just trying to get a cheap piece of a high powered offense. There is a path for Powell become the WR2 and he’s free in all formats. Guy was a monster in the loss to tOSU and had a good senior bowl week.
Aha! Weak O line. No LT. Your Half billion dollar quarterback is going to get smashed.BTW…it is unfair that one team has both Hill and Kelce. For how good Mahomes is he is also spoiled with riches (including Andy Reid).
This. I totally agree. I actually think DeMarcus Robinson is a better bet for production than Pringle but neither are inspiring talents. Powell is strong and physical and perhaps he even has some Hines Ward in him? The Chiefs have very little depth among their receiving corps (which is one of the things that makes me a little uneasy about going out on a limb for Mahomes) and if something were to happen to Kelce or Hill, there would be a real path for Powell. Regardless, I think he has a chance to surprise.Just thinking about how the Chiefs like to do things, neither Mecole or Pringle are a good fit as the X. I’m kind of intrigued by Cornell Powell. Yeah you’re thinking about it the same way I am. Hardman or Pringle have a specific section of the playbook they’re good at. But if they’re running the ball or want to line up trips on one side/X on the other side against a long strong corner - they were putting Kelce out there. Not bc they wanted to, they were forced to. Powell can be that X, he stays on the next play to block, starts to accumulate snaps, which leads to targets…there’s a path for him bc he has skills / body type the other 3 don’t.This. Let the chips fall where they may.Touchdown, Pringle.
If Hardman struggles, watch out for Pringle.
I didn’t make it home in time for the first drive. Did Hardman struggle? It’s the ripple affect of Hardman playing poorly.
He’s fine. I don’t think he played much.I didn’t make it home in time for the first drive. Did Hardman struggle?
IMO he’s a hold until someone goes down. If Tyreek or Hardman miss time, the window will be open for Pringle to build some dynasty value.Any trades recently? Picked him up for free in 4 of my dynasty league now get asked about him. I feel like i could only get a 4th, which just makes me want to hold onto him.
Most of the posts in here are puns and some pretty good ones.I didn’t make it home in time for the first drive. Did Hardman struggle?
Yeah, I could see that. Or if hardman gets dinged up, same thing. Plus he’s likely to see action in 3 WR sets as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gradually increases his role - it seems like they really wanted to use Watkins but he never could stay on the field. Maybe Pringle’s a better fit for the Watkins role since Hardman is a Tyreek type WR?Definitely on my list to draft near the end of all redraft drafts. Hill’s hammy tightens up and you got a guy that Mahomes appears to trust on the field.
Pringle over Powell as the dart throw then?
In real deep bench leagues it makes sense, though I'd probably be ready to drop one or two of them as soon as a waiver darling appears.drafted last night (deep bench league) I took Hardman as my WR4 & then took both Pringle & Robinson late ........ not sure if I love it (if something happens to Hill!!) or hate it (week to week it'll be a diff. 1 of the 3 posting numbers)
But not dynasty?
I agree. Pringle is old but seems the best bet to get targets this year which is really all that matters when we are talking this deep. Powell is a really poor prospect.I would have Pringle over Powell in dynasty as well. But typically rookies and vets are lumped a bit differently for draft purposes. I was under the impression your original post was for a late draft dart throw in a redraft.
When you have an elite QB potentially losing his top WR someone has a chance to step up.
Need a shovel to find that one… I don’t think Mahomes is playing like an elite quarterback right now but of the four receivers I would feel most comfortable starting Pringle. Most comfortable, not confident.BobbyLayne said:OK but how about now?
Not a bad performance from the potato chip…OK but how about now?
Byron Pringle caught 5-of-7 targets for 29 yards and one touchdown in the Chiefs' Divisional Round win over the Bills.
Pringle caught the first of Patrick Mahomes' three touchdowns with a two-yarder in the second quarter. His seven targets tied Jerick McKinnon for third on the team behind Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce. Pringle and Mecole Hardman fight for targets behind Hill and Kelce on a weekly basis. He'll be a dart-throw fantasy bet in the AFC Championship game against the Bengals next week.

Byron Pringle caught 2-of-3 targets for 16 yards in the Chiefs' AFC Championship Game loss to the Bengals.
Pringle was operating as the Chiefs' No. 2 receiver by the end of the season, but it still resulted in just 42 catches for 568 yards and five scores. The 28-year-old journeyman is emblematic of just how shaky the Chiefs' skill talent is behind All-Pros Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill. Headed to free agency, former UDFA Pringle has spent his entire career in Kansas City, but it would not be surprising to see the Chiefs let him walk as they rebuild their receiver corps. Pringle doesn't have a Dynasty league future despite this year's career campaign.

If Fields doesn’t step up his game, that wont really matter. With Chicago Bears now.
According to NFL Next Gen Stats, Byron Pringle tied for the second-best amount of separation in the NFL for wide receivers last year.
I would sell that to another owner and cash in your chips. With Chicago Bears now.

If he has a half decent game imma try to get a 4th from a contender.I would sell that to another owner and cash in your chips.
For your information, starting this year, Fields is going to light up the NFL!If Fields doesn’t step up his game, that wont really matter.
Hopefully the WR4 on the Bears. One of the the better WR4’s out there IMO.
I agree. He had his chances in KC when they really needed someone else to step up. He's a reliable WR3-4 for an NFL team perhaps but not for fantasy.JohnnyU said:No better than a depth piece and I can't see him being fantasy viable at this point, but who knows?
